A BIG surprise for Chancellor Elementary! ❤️

PE teachers Wayne Via and Stephanie Wyatt were surprised with the news that Chancellor Elementary has received a $10,000 award from the American Heart Association and the National Football League (NFL) Foundation for a physical activity equipment makeover!

The award recognizes the school’s participation in the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge and its efforts to teach students Hands-Only CPR. The surprise celebration also included representatives from the Washington Commanders, who joined in celebrating Chancellor Elementary’s achievement! 🏈❤️

Congratulations to Mr. Via, Ms. Wyatt, and the entire Chancellor Elementary community on this well-deserved recognition! 👏

Thank you to the American Heart Association and the Washington Commanders for making this surprise possible and celebrating with our staff and students!

🎸 Rock Out, Knock Out Homelessness! 🧡

Join SCPS for the 15th Annual Rock Out Knock Out Homelessness Awareness & Donation Event, benefiting the Treasure House and Supporting Spotsylvania County Public Schools students in need.

📅 Friday, Oct. 2 & Saturday, Oct. 3
⏰ 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. both days

Looking to donate? We’re collecting essential items including:

• Laundry detergent
• Dish soap & cleaning products
• Body wash & shampoo/conditioner
• Deodorant
• Paper towels & toilet paper
• Ethnic hair products
• Feminine products
• Air fryers & can openers
• Gift cards

Donations collected during the event will benefit the Treasure House, helping provide essential items and support to SCPS students and families.

ROVER recently visited POMS & Spotswood ES! 📚🚌

ROVER joined Post Oak Middle School for Back to School Night and Spotswood Elementary for its Back to School Block Party. Students and families had the chance to stop by, check out the bus and pick up a book as they kicked off another school year!

National Arts in Education Week | September 13th - 19th 🎨🖌️

To wrap up Arts in Education Week, we’re showcasing some of the amazing artwork created by our students!

Congratulations to Scarlett Godley, a 5th grader at Livingston Elementary School, on being selected as our September Superintendent’s Art Award recipient! 🌟

We’re also highlighting some of our amazing Smith Station Elementary and Ni River Middle student artwork displayed at the School Board Office.
