Next month is the Local Author Book Fair
Saturday, November 28, 1:00pm–4:00pm
Clinton Community Hall
We've gathered Whidbey's authors for an afternoon of books, mingling, and craft mocktails. Chat with local authors about their works and get a start on your holiday book shopping. Support local writers while sipping on free craft mocktails by library gastronome Karen Achabal.

Book sales and signing will be available. Some sales will be cash only.

Camas is a beautiful blue-purple Northwest wildflower with a sweet, edible bulb. Known as Qwlho7el to the Samish people, this native plant plays a star role in Coast Salish culture.

Learn about the history, cultivation, and significance of this iconic plant at Significance of Qwlho7el (Camas) on Friday November 6th from 2:00-3:00. Presented by Sam Qol7ánten Barr, Executive Director of the Salish Youth Coalition. No registration necessary.

Two like poles of magnets repel and two opposite poles attract. Inquisitive kids, teens, and adults will first learn how to harness that force to keep something spinning, then make a working motor with only a magnet, wire, paper clips, and a battery.

Make Your Own Electric Motor on Saturday, November 7th from 10:00am-11:30am. No registration needed.

Connecting Through Crafts at the Freeland Library is a monthly program for adults to craft community over art and conversation. Whether you consider yourself a creative person or not, you are welcome at this program!
