The Gahanna Division of Police is a community-focused, professionally-minded law enforcement agency led by Chief Jeffrey Spence. It is comprised of 62 full-time sworn officers, three part-time sworn officers, 11 communications technicians, three reserve (volunteer) officers and eight civilian support staff members. The Division is divided into four components Support Services, Investigative Servi

ces, Field Services, and Communications. The Gahanna Division of Police is a certified law enforcement agency through the Ohio Collaborative Community Police Advisory Board. We’re excited to welcome Anthony Earley to the Gahanna Division of Police, where he will serve as a Police Officer.

Anthony says he’s excited to serve Gahanna because the community reminds him of his hometown and offers the opportunity to both serve and live in a great community.

Before joining our team, Anthony attended Kent State University, where he studied Pre-Law and Psychology. He also worked as a mechanic during his summers, bringing valuable hands-on experience and a strong work ethic to his new role.

We’re glad to have Anthony on our team and look forward to the positive impact he’ll make in Gahanna. Welcome, Anthony!

Welcome to the City of Gahanna, Kaylyn Mintz!

Please join us in welcoming Kaylyn Mintz to the Gahanna Division of Police. Kaylyn joins our team as a Police Officer and is excited to begin her career serving the Gahanna community.

Kaylyn says she was drawn to Gahanna because of our strong sense of community, family atmosphere, and the variety of opportunities available throughout her career.

Her passion for public service began at a young age through volunteering, and she previously completed an internship with the Upper Arlington Police Department.

We’re excited to have Kaylyn’s dedication and passion for serving others as part of our team.

Welcome to the City of Gahanna, Alex Behnen!

We’re excited to welcome Alex Behnen as the newest member of our Public Safety team. Alex will serve as an Evidence Technician with the Gahanna Division of Police, bringing 35 years of experience with the Columbus Division of Police to his new role.

Alex chose a career in law enforcement because he believes in a life of service to others, and he chose Gahanna because of its reputation for excellence and positive work environment.

He holds an Associate of Applied Science in Law Enforcement from Sinclair Community College and a Bachelor of Social Work from Capital University.

We’re thrilled to welcome Alex to the team and look forward to the experience, knowledge, and passion for public service he brings to our community.
