EAST SIDE ROAD IMPROVEMENTS STARTING SOON

API will soon start construction on the Cityโ€™s latest Community Crossings Matching Grant project. This will include curb ramps/limited sidewalk replacement and resurfacing of the following streets:

E. Quincy from Randolph to Taylor
Sullivan from Quincy to Keyser
Collins from Quincy to Keyser
2nd St. from Quincy to E. Houston
E. Keyser from Harrison to dead end
1st St. from King to Keyser

Concrete work is scheduled to begin the week of August 24. Asphalt replacement will begin in October. All work will be complete by December 1. During this time, on street parking may be disrupted and roads may be closed to through traffic. We will do our best to notify those affected prior to the restrictions occurring.

We know our East Side residents are already navigating disruptions caused from the new school construction and we truly appreciate your patience as we work to upgrade our city streets and infrastructure. Please drive cautiously around work zones and equipment.

If you have any questions concerning this project, please contact the Planning Department at [email protected].

๐ŸŽ’๐Ÿ“š Ready or notโ€ฆ the first day of school is HERE! ๐ŸšŒโœ๏ธ

Welcome back, Garrett-Keyser-Butler Schools! We hope the backpacks are packed, the alarms actually went off, and everyone remembered where they left their shoes. ๐Ÿ˜…

While students are getting back into the school routine, drivers have a little homework too:

๐ŸšŒ Watch for school buses
๐Ÿšธ Slow down in school zones
๐Ÿ‘€ Keep an eye out for kids walking and biking
๐Ÿ“ต Phones down, eyes up

And rememberโ€”being late is better than getting a ticketโ€ฆ or causing a crash. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Have an awesome first day, GKB! Letโ€™s start the school year off safe! ๐Ÿš“๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸšŒ School starts in just a few days! โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ“š

As students head back to the classroom, remember to slow down, stay alert, and keep distractions away while driving. ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ‘€

Watch for children walking and biking, obey school-zone speed limits, and always stop for school buses when required. ๐Ÿ›‘๐ŸšŒ

A few extra seconds of caution can make all the difference. Letโ€™s work together to keep our students safe this school year! ๐Ÿš“๐Ÿ’™

What an amazing night! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’™
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to make Garrett Night Out 2026 such a tremendous success! We were blown away by the incredible turnout, the beautiful weather, and the opportunity to spend the evening with so many members of our amazing community.

A special thank you to CSX and the First Responders Childrenโ€™s Foundation for their generous donation of toys, helping us bring even more smiles to kids' faces again this year!

Events like this remind us how fortunate we are to serve such a supportive and caring community. We hope everyone had as much fun as we did!
