Good evening, Hurricane Families!

Thank you for helping us have a great first week of the 2026–2027 school year! As we begin Week 2, we are excited to continue building strong routines and making every day count for our students.

📚 THIS WEEK AT GSLA
We have a regular week of teaching and learning ahead! Our teachers and students will continue settling into classroom routines and focusing on meaningful learning each day.

⏰ ATTENDANCE MATTERS
Every day and every instructional minute matter. Please help your Hurricane arrive at school on time and ready to learn each day. Consistent attendance helps students build routines, stay connected to their learning, and make academic progress.

⭐ LEAD AT HOME | LEARN EVERY DAY
This week, our schoolwide LEAD focus is Learn Every Day. Students will hear this message throughout the week during our morning announcements, and we invite our families to continue the conversation at home.

Try asking your Hurricane each evening:
💬 “What is one thing you learned today?”
That one simple question can lead to great conversations about what is happening in the classroom!

There will be no school Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. Students will return Tuesday, September 8.
