‼Keeping Our Longhorns Safe‼

At George West ISD, the safety of our students and staff remains a priority every day. We continue to strengthen campus security through improvements that support safe, welcoming learning environments.

Our newest addition is the installation of fence covers at George West Primary! These covers provide added privacy around outdoor student areas, limit visibility from outside the fence, and help reduce distractions while students play and learn.

This improvement is one part of our ongoing commitment to reviewing campus needs and adding layers of protection across our district.

A special thank you to our maintenance staff and Mr. Chris Thomaisee, Director of Emergency Management/ School Marshal, for making this improvement possible. We appreciate your hard work and commitment to keeping our students and staff safe!

Together, we’re building a safer, stronger George West ISD!

🚌💙Our little Longhorns are learning big lessons in bus safety!

Our Primary students practiced important procedures for staying safe on and around the school bus. These lessons build confidence and help our students make safe choices each day.

We’re proud of our little Longhorns for being attentive learners and doing their part to keep every ride safe!

Keeping our Longhorns safe takes all of us! Please review safe riding habits with your children, remain alert around school buses, and watch for students loading and unloading.

George West ISD is proud to be engaged in the Texas Mentorship Training (TMT) program, supporting the growth and success of our beginning teachers through meaningful, high-quality mentorship. By investing in trained mentors and strong support systems, we are helping our newest educators build confidence, strengthen their instructional practices, and thrive in the classroom.

We are excited to continue this important work and appreciate the opportunity to be highlighted in our local newspaper!
