Goshen Community Schools acknowledges the rights of students, parents, and patrons to view and comment on GCS Facebook posts. GCS reserves the right to remove any comment that includes abusive, defamatory or obscene language; harassing or bullying comments about a specific student or staff member; threats of violence; fraudulent, d

eceptive, or misleading information; or comments which violate the privacy rights of any GCS student or staff member; any illegal or unlawful comment or any comment that interferes with the normal operation or educational purpose of GCS or one of its schools or functions. If such comments are posted, GCS will take actions that can include hiding comments, deleting comments, or other measures reasonably designed to eliminate such posts, as well as reporting any illegal activity to law enforcement and disciplining students or staff members for harassing or bullying conduct. While we appreciate the interaction with students and community members, GCS is an educational entity, and as such, we aim to use this platform in an informative and responsible manner. We thank you in advance for your cooperation with these rules. A person believing that a social media post or comment was improperly removed or hidden, or whose participation was suspended, should contact the GCS administration office to schedule a meeting to present information to the superintendent or superintendent’s designee, regarding why that post or comment should not have been removed. Within five school days after receiving information and evidence at that meeting, the superintendent or the superintendent’s designee shall make a written determination on the validity of the removal.

A huge Model Bulldog thank you to retired Principal BJ Miller, who recently stopped by to visit! He even gifted all of our Model staff members with beautiful, handmade wooden serving utensils he crafted himself. 🪵✨
BJ served as Model’s principal from 1984 to 1993, spending the final nine years of his incredible career right here with us. During his visit, he shared a few wonderful memories from his time in leadership:
Tree-mendous Goals: Inspired by the book 50 Trees of Indiana, he set out to plant 50 trees on the Model playground. While they didn't quite hit all 50, many of the mature trees shading our grounds today were personally planted by him! 🌳
Gym Flooring: He’s the one responsible for getting carpet installed in the gymnasium during his tenure! 🏀 BJ joked with staff that carpeted gym floors were the trend back then even though they are not very popular now.

Thank you, Mr. Miller, for stopping by, sharing your history with us, and leaving such a lasting legacy (and beautiful trees!) at Model Elementary. ❤️🐾

We spent part of the first day of school visiting Parkside Elementary School and Model Elementary School, where students were busy reconnecting with friends, meeting their teachers, settling into their classrooms, and getting the 2026–27 school year started!

There were plenty of smiles everywhere we went, and it was great seeing the energy back inside our schools. Welcome back, Parkside and Model! Here's to a great year ahead.

Pasamos parte del primer día de clases visitando Parkside Elementary School y Model Elementary School, donde los estudiantes estaban ocupados reencontrándose con amigos, conociendo a sus maestros, instalándose en sus aulas y comenzando el año escolar 2026-27.

Había muchas sonrisas dondequiera que íbamos, y fue genial ver la energía de regreso en nuestras escuelas. ¡Bienvenidos de nuevo, Parkside y Model! Esperamos un gran año por delante.

Tuesday, August 11th is Back to School Night. From 5:30-6:30pm
We will also have Meet, Greet, & Eat on Tuesday the 11th from 5-7pm.
