We celebrated our five retirees from Dames Ferry this morning! We are so grateful for all the joy, service, and time they dedicated to the Jones County School System and DFE! While we are certainly sad to see them go, we are excited for them to take on new adventures!!

Hi y’all! My name is Ava Taylor 😄 and I’m so excited to be teaching 2nd grade at Dames Ferry for the 2026–2027 school year! 📚✏️ I am a first-year teacher and recently graduated 🎓 from UNC Greensboro with a dual licensure in Elementary and Special Education.

I’ve had the opportunity to work as a substitute teacher in Dames Ferry’s adapted classrooms a few times, and I’m thrilled to now be joining such a fantastic school full-time. I can’t wait to meet my students and be part of the Dames Ferry family! ❤️✨

Welcome to Ms. Gordon!

Hey y’all! My name is Madison Gordon, and I’ll be joining the 3rd grade team at Dames Ferry Elementary! I recently graduated from Georgia Southern University with a degree in Elementary Education, and this will be my first year teaching. I am passionate about creating a welcoming and supportive environment, and I can’t wait to get started!

I was born and raised in Jones County and attended Jones County schools my whole life, so it is incredibly special to now teach in the same community that helped shape me. I am so excited to meet my students and families and make this school year a great one. Go Dragons, Go Greyhounds! 💜💛
