Last night I had the opportunity to attend the Green & Gold Gala at Lambeau Field benefiting Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin 💚💛
Of course, spending an evening at Lambeau & getting to hang out with a few Packers alumni is pretty dang cool 😉🏈
But what makes this event so special is what the night is really about!
Family Services is doing incredibly important work right here in Northeast Wisconsin, supporting children, individuals & families through some of the hardest moments of their lives.
From mental health & crisis services to supporting survivors of sexual assault and child abuse, early childhood programs, recovery services & so much more these are resources our community truly needs!!

Last year alone, Family Services served more than 7,800 individuals through the programs supported by the Green & Gold Gala & responded to more than 129,000 crisis contacts

Events like this are such a great reminder that behind all the fun, fancy clothes, football legends & incredible setting is a much bigger purpose: taking care of the people in our own community 💚

You don’t have to attend a gala or make a huge donation to make a difference. Every contribution helps Family Services continue to Protect. Heal. Care.

This past weekend, Family Services was incredibly proud to participate in this year's Be the Light Walk. Our team of nearly 30 walked alongside more than 1,500 community walkers with the same goals in mind. Support su***de prevention, reduce the stigma, and spread hope for those impacted by mental health challenges. ❤

Jennifer Younk, Director of the Crisis Center, shared powerful reflections on the importance of hope and how it plays a major role in healing.

Sometimes, a person in crisis may not say they’re struggling. Instead, changes in behavior, emotions, or daily routines may be a signal that something deeper is going on.

Here are 5 warning signs someone may be in crisis:

• Experiencing extreme feelings of sadness, worry, or hopelessness — especially feeling that the pain will never stop.
• New or increased alcohol or drug use as a way to cope or numb emotional pain.
• Withdrawing from others, losing interest in activities they once enjoyed, or spending more time isolated at home.
• Decreased attention to personal hygiene or self-care.
• Major, unexplained changes in their life or behavior.

If you’re concerned about someone, reach out. Ask how they’re doing. Let them know they don’t have to face what they’re experiencing alone. 💛

September is National Recovery Month, and we’re celebrating the power of connection, community, and hope. 💙

When communities connect recovery housing, peer support, treatment, employment, and local resources, people have more opportunities to thrive. Recovery happens together.

It's important that we continue working together to build communities where support is accessible, and everyone has the opportunity to find their path to recovery.

988 Day was this week, and our team came together to create a Wall of Hope in different spots around our community which included encouraging messages, reminders, and words of support for anyone who may be going through a difficult time.

Each note is a simple reminder that you are not alone, your story matters, and there is always hope for tomorrow. 💛

Reaching out to 988 connects you with a trained crisis counselor who is there to listen, understand what you’re experiencing, and help you find a way forward. But what actually happens when you reach out?

When you call 988:

- You’ll hear an automated greeting with additional options for Veterans and Spanish speakers. You can also simply stay on the line.
- You’ll hear a little music while you’re connected with a skilled, trained crisis counselor.
- Your call will be routed to the closest crisis center in the 988 Lifeline network based on your area code.
- A trained crisis counselor at a local center will answer. They’ll listen, work to understand what you’re experiencing, provide support, and collaborate with you on ways to feel better and connect with any help or resources you may need.

When you text 988:

You’ll be asked to complete a short survey before connecting with a crisis counselor. The survey helps provide a little information about what you’re experiencing.

When you use 988 Lifeline chat:

Visit https://988lifeline.org/chat/ and complete a short survey about your current situation. You’ll then see a wait-time message while you’re connected with a crisis counselor.

You don’t have to navigate a difficult moment alone. Whether you call, text, or chat, 988 is there to listen and connect you with support. 💙
