Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen

Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen We are a non-profit organization ready to feed anyone that needs a meal. Caring volunteers prepare

History KBMSK Memorial
The soup kitchen was inspired by the spirit of Kenneth Butler who was once a fire chief in Greenfield. He was a man who dedicated his time to helping those in need through truck-stop ministries, prison ministries, and taking in homeless people. So, when a small group of dedicated people initiated the renovation and creation of the soup kitchen, they felt there was no better

person to memorialize than Chief Butler. Remodeling of the building began in December, 2008, and the kitchen opened its doors to the public on October 12, 2009. All remodeling was done by volunteers and funded by the community. The support of our volunteers and the community continues to be amazing. If you have questions or are interested in helping out, contact Jill Ebbert at the Soup Kitchen, 317-462-9900, or via e-mail at [email protected]

Now that all donations have been dispersed, we wanted to share an update post with everyone who helped make our Christmas Auction a success.
With your help, we were able to donate to the Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hancock County, the Mibor Foundation, the Riley Children's Hospital, and the Children's Miracle Network Hospital.
We want to thank you all again for supporting our auction, giving us the ability to help these wonderful foundations.

The world has lost another good one. I was honored to serve on the soup kitchen board with her. She dedicated MUCH of her retirement to serving at the kitchen--many times in the back kitchen on her own.She was a remarkable and very funny lady. Well done, good and faithful servant--the world will miss you. -Carol
