Let’s throw out the belief that homelessness and addiction happens to a specific type of person. We are all capable of finding ourselves in situations of the unthinkable, even if we don’t realize it. Instead of offering assumptions, let us choose to offer kindness!

Bust out the beach towels and flip flops, because summer is officially here!

While we know everyone is more than happy to bid farewell to the cold, lets not forget that summer can be just as dangerous for our friends who are without a place to call home. If you’d like to help us support some of the most vulnerable people in our community, you can do so at the link below.

It's Firework Friday again, and good golly Miss Molly, have we ever been busy in the housing department lately! Please join us in celebrating along with all of these people that are no longer homeless.
*Two men moved out of shelter into an apartment in Kent County.
*Three ladies moved out of shelter into housing in Ionia County - one moved in with a cousin, one moved in with her boyfriend, and one got an apartment with her daughter.
*One couple moved out of shelter and in with a family member in Ingham County.
*A couple and their 2 children found housing in Ingham County.
*One man moved out of shelter into a house in Montcalm County.
*One woman, her son, and two additional men found a house to rent in Montcalm County.

Sixteen people have housing and are now self-supporting again! What great news for all of them and we sincerely hope for the best going forward.

Here's some nice things they said:
"I liked that I was able to make friends."
"I like that they were helpful and not judgmental of my situation or me coming back. The staff was always nice."
"Very helpful"
(front office staff) "actually put in footwork for me. Forever grateful."
"I liked that we were both able to come here and get shelter and have our dogs."

GREAT job staff. You're doing the hard work, putting in the long hours and helping people right where they need it the most. And it shows. As always, a big THANK YOU to our Housing Heroes that support our residents by keeping food on the table and the lights on. Sixteen people made it out of homelessness because you cared enough to support them. We are forever grateful to you.

If you or anyone you know is interested in pursuing a life of sobriety, know that we’re ready and eager to help! At Genesis 2, we offer a structured environment for men practicing sobriety, and we’ve helped countless people start on their journey by aligning them with treatment programs that meet their immediate needs. Once they’ve finished their treatment and are ready for the next step, we welcome them into our program with open arms- furthering their progression and strengthening the foundation they’ve built. The transition into a life of sobriety can be daunting but know that you don't have to face it alone! To find out more, you can reach us at: (616)-225-8055.
