It took several requests from our club president, but we finally got an answer!
It pays to pay attention—and it pays to ask questions.
Here is the revenue Rockaway Township has collected from the dispensary. The question is: How much tax relief does this actually provide to residents?
Do you think having a dispensary in town is worth the revenue it brings in? Is the financial benefit enough? Do you want to see more dispensaries approved in town?

👉 Rockaway Township has collected just over $210,000 from its 2% cannabis tax since 2024, Business Administrator Lisa Palmieri told the Township Council on Oct. 13, The Citizen reported.
This year's budget anticipated $75,000, and about $47,000 had come in through the second quarter. Palmieri said the receipts go into the general fund and are used to offset taxes.
Holistic Re-Leaf, which opened in 2024, is still the township's only cannabis business, and the health department has not received any new license applications.
Did you expect the number to be higher or lower?
