Harrison Fire & Rescue

Harrison Fire & Rescue Harrison Fire/Rescue Department Not even a century later, times have certainly changed. The department runs 360 calls annually out of a single central station.

The Town of Harrison Volunteer Fire Department was founded in May 1927 after a special town meeting was called and $5,000 was appropriated to buy the town's first fire engine. Harrison's firefighters and EMS personnel are as well-trained and experienced as any "big city" fire department, with the most advanced technology available to better fight fires. Today the Harrison Fire/Rescue Department is

a municipal fire department located in the western foothills of Maine. We serve a population of approx. 2500 year round residents which swells to approx. 5000 during the summer. I house 2 Class “A” engines, a Class “A” pumper/tanker, a small rescue truck and a mini-pumper/brush truck. Our crews run a variety of calls, most being automobile accidents, grass/brush fires, and alarm activations, as well as mutual aid to our surrounding communities. Our EMS is provided by our first responders, with PACE & United ambulance as transporting services. Hello and welcome....from the pride of Harrison, Maine.
