Tuesday's Board of Commissioners meeting can now be viewed. At our meeting, the Board:

• Proclaimed October 2026 as both Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Bullying Awareness Month
• Awarded a contract for resurfacing the walking track at the CREC
• Passed the Township’s zoning ordinance rewrite. Stay tuned for announcements about Phase II of this process!
• Approved several resolutions authorizing the Township to apply for grant funding through the state for several infrastructure and facility improvement projects.
• Approved a plan for development at 43 E. Turnbull Avenue. Following feedback on the proposal, the applicant has agreed to keep the existing single-family home and build a second single-family home on the property.
• Approved a two-year purchase agreement for electricity and natural gas generation in alignment with the Township’s adopted Climate Action Plan.

The County of Delaware Office of Services for the Aging (COSA) is working collaboratively with the PA Department of Aging and Aston Public Library to offer the award-winning evidence-based program entitled WISE (Wellness Initiative for Senior Education) developed by the New Jersey Prevention Network. This 6-session evidence-based program will be held at Aston Public Library and covers a wide range of topics including the aging process, stress management, strategies for healthy living, and medication management. The program uses an interactive approach to help seniors celebrate this exciting stage of life, make healthy lifestyle choices, and feel more confident and in control of their lives.

The program will be held on Fridays from October 16th through November 20th from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Aston Public Library, 3270 Concord Road, Aston, PA 19014.

Attn: Marilyn Park Neighbors!

Please be advised that PECO will be undertaking a project in the Marilyn Park neighborhood in the Township's 4th Wardto improve electric service reliability and reduce the frequency of power outages.

The project will include installing new poles, tree-resistant overhead wires, and equipment designed to detect problems and automatically restore power when possible. PECO also anticipates that some tree trimming and removals will be necessary along Ellis, Golf Hills, and Lawrence Roads; Barbara and Josie Lanes; and Garlor, Jacalyn, and Marilyn Drives.

PECO contractors are expected to survey the area for tree work over the next few weeks. If tree work is needed on your property, PECO says it will contact you directly to review the plans in person. Tree work is expected to begin in October 2026 and wrap up by December, with electrical equipment upgrades scheduled to begin in early 2027 and finish by June 2027.

Haverford Township's next Board of Commissioners meeting will be held on *TUESDAY* October 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Township Building (1014 Darby Road). Please note the Tuesday meeting due to the holiday.

All Board of Commissioners meetings are broadcast live on the Government Access Channel, #38 on Verizon and #5 on Comcast. The meeting can be viewed on the Haverford Township's YouTube channel the day after the meeting. Public participation at the Board of Commissioners meetings is encouraged.

The Haverford Township Building will be closed on Monday, October 12, for Columbus Day.
