We are still smiling from when Kaiser Permanente teamed up with us at our Annual Children's Fair this year to co-host their Teddy Bear Clinic. Thank you to Stacey and the team at Ace Hardware of Fremont for selecting us as the beneficiary of their "Round Up at the Register" program! All of the extra change collected resulted in over $1,600 raised to support 4Cs of Alameda County's programs for children, parents, and child care providers. It truly takes a village and we are so glad that Ace Hardware of Fremont and their customers are part of our incredibly supportive community.

Congratulations to Stephen Curry, co-founder of the Eat Learn Play Foundation and Golden State Warriors superstar, who accepted The Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian Award at last night's ESPYs. 4Cs of Alameda County is proud to be a partner of the Eat. Learn. Play. Bus as we welcome them every year at our Annual Children's Fair and team up to provide food and books at our Oakland Backpack Distribution events. Just this past Tuesday, the ELP Bus joined us at our Oakland office and helped us ensure Oakland students are prepared for this upcoming school year with nutritious snacks, bags of groceries, and beautifully diverse books. Child Care Providers will learn the neurobiology of trauma and the impact of toxic stress on the brain and behavior of children. 4Cs of Alameda County is proud to welcome three new board members and welcome back a former board member to 4Cs’ leadership team. Beginning July 1, 2026, new members Felicia Duncan, Danielle Franklin, and Damier Xandrine and returning board member Mittie Grigsby joined the ten current members of the 4Cs Board of Directors who provide oversight, guidance, and expertise for the agency.

Ms. Grigsby rejoins the 4Cs board after a decade hiatus with deep roots in Alameda County and an even deeper background in nonprofit fiscal management, sustainability, and risk management. Ms. Duncan is a seasoned Northern California Real Estate Broker who brings her passion for supporting all facets of a family’s well-being and the well-being of organizations to her role. Ms. Franklin brings more than 15 years of experience advancing organizational effectiveness, economic mobility, and equitable access to services across healthcare and nonprofit sectors to 4Cs of Alameda County board. Finally, Ms. Xandrine rounds out the Board of Directors with her extensive legal, financial services, technology, and education expertise, providing increased legal, executive, and governance knowledge with a global lens.

As parents and children prepare for the school year, 4Cs will be giving away backpacks (a limit of 4 per family), as well as coats, books, and other supplies to support learning and development. Pre-registration is required and is limited to only one event! A waiting list will be posted once spaces are filled.
