Today we had the honor of meeting the Bay to Brooklyn riders as they stopped in our area. What a great group of guys to chat with and get to know. All of them are active or retired first responders one of them retired from FDNY and knew many that died in the 9/11 attacks. We wish them a safe journey as they continue their ride and we want to thank them for chatting with us.

There is an increase in the amount of smoke in our community this is from the fires in Oregon mostly and our thoughts are with all of those affected by those fires.

Crazy numbers

🚨🔥 PACIFIC NORTHWEST WILDFIRE UPDATE 🔥🚨

Washington and Oregon continue to battle an extraordinary wildfire season, with more than 1.72 million acres burning across dozens of large active fires.

📍 Washington: 205,055 acres are burning across 12 major incidents, led by the Kaiser Canyon Fire (126,402 acres).

📍 Oregon: 1,516,034 acres are burning across 22 large fires, with the Rowe Creek Complex (294,000 acres) and Big Grass Fire (292,087 acres) among the largest in the nation.

Firefighters continue working around the clock in steep terrain, extreme heat, low humidity, and challenging wind conditions to protect lives, homes, and critical infrastructure. Many communities remain under evacuation notices or heightened fire weather concerns, and conditions can change rapidly.

Please continue to respect closures, follow evacuation orders immediately if issued, and give emergency responders the space they need to do their jobs safely.

As large fires continue to impact our surrounding communities, firefighters are spending long hours on the fireline working to protect lives, homes, and property. These firefighters are RFPA's, volunteers and local mutual aid departments.

We're asking for your help in supporting these crews by donating much-needed supplies. Every bottle of water, snack, and personal care item helps keep firefighters fueled, hydrated, and ready for the next assignment.

Just after 5pm Heyburn station was dispatched to a trailer on fire on I-84 Milepost 214. Trailer was detached from the pickup truck and the trailer was fully involved when they arrived. Heyburn Fire was assisted by Declo Fire who was also dispatched. The fire also started a grass fire along the interstate which was also extinguished. No injuries were reported. Idaho State Police & Emergency Response Ambulance also responded to the scene.

🚨Structure Fire Response 🚨

Around 5:45 this evening Heyburn station was paged out to 2000 block of U street for a house fire. Before the 1st Heyburn Engine was en route was advised by dispatch that house was fully involved. Due to volunteers being on on a Medical Call involving CPR in progress at the same time and the hot weather, mutual aid was Requested from Burley Fire & East End station.
First Engine from a Heyburn with a crew of 3 arrived within minutes of dispatch to find the single story house with a garage fully involved spreading to the rest of the home. No one was inside at the time but firefighters were able to rescue the family dog. The fire was contained within a hour & all units cleared around 8:45. The house is a total loss. No injuries were reported. The family is being assisted by the Burley Firefighters Burnout Fund & The Red Cross. During this incident Heyburn Fire had 2 other calls which East End and Heyburn firefighters covered those 2 calls.
