To do this, we consult with family members, current caregivers, physicians, and other professionals.

Parent Care Management Services (PCMS) Is a full service care management company dedicated to solving the elderly and disabled population's healthcare challenges. At the start of our term of service with a client, we conduct a full assessment of the individual, including physical, social, psychological parameters and also his/her ability to perform activities of daily living. We then prepare a report, reviewing our findings and making recommendations for care provisions, options and costs. Clients may then choose whether they would carry out the recommendations or hire our staff to coordinate ongoing services. We provide continuity and consistency of services to assist with in-home care or placement, as necessary. We coordinate appropriate services and monitor their effectiveness for your loved one. We work to avoid potential problems and conserve financial resources. Services include:
• Screening, setting up, training, coordinating, and monitoring competent in-home help
• Designing personalized care plans and records/logs to ensure compliance with care plan
• On-going assessment of physical and mental health by periodic home or facility visits; regular phone calls for reassurance and problem resolution.
• Crisis management and early intervention to minimize deleterious effects

Carolyn Michaelis-Moe, RN, Owner of Parent Care Management Services was one of the sponsors of the San Bernardino County Bar Association Probate Symposium on 9/17 at the Doubletree-Hilton. Organized by the office of Sam Price, Esq., this yearly event provided MCLE credits featuring Valerie Peterson, JD, presenting information about the Use of AI in Elder Law. Judges Cortez, Mann, Garcia, Wilkerson, and Acker presented the State of the SB Probate Court.
The theme was The Roaring 20's and many people came dressed for the event! Kymberly Lewis and other members of CALDA (Ca Legal Document Assistants) had their own table, which they shared with Carolyn. The Social Hour gave many opportunities for connecting with other colleagues -
Rene Abraham, JD and Layne Bartholomew, JD, Judge Tara Reilly, Professional Fiduciaries Joanna and Jacob Averett, and Susan Ghormley, as well as many vendors and supporters. Many thanks to the staff at Sam's office for their work to make this an outstanding event!

9/11 - A Day of Remembrance -
Twenty-five years after the attacks on the Twin Towers in New York, the Pentagon, and an aborted su***de mission ending in a field in Pennsylvania, Parent Care wishes to honor the victims, families, and survivors dealing with loss. We recognize the lasting consequences of 9/11 on many individual lives. We especially want to honor those first responders and ordinary people who rushed IN to the Towers to find and rescue occupants and those on Flight 93 who bravely faced their hijackers and prevented even more destruction. Remembrance is an act of unity, and the courageous compassion strangers showed one another on that day remains stronger than the hatred that sought to divide them.

Parent Care Management Services' owner, Carolyn Michaelis-Moe, RN, CMC, was pleased to attend the AgeWise Alliance meetings at September's in Redlands and the West Valley one at 4th & Mill in Ontario. Diana Ramirez, MSG, and her team from Care Patrol organize these events to give us an opportunity to meet colleagues involved in the Senior community. Pam Bergman-Schwarz, Senior Real Estate specialist, introduced me to her new Associate, Rebecca Anderson; Susan Embree told the crowd about Rancho Springs, the new Memory Care facility opening in Rancho; Marlon Minera, MD, geriatric in-home physician, met with Gregory Hang, Probate investigator, and many other conversations took place that will give our team more resources to use for our clients. Thank you to all the organizers!

National Grief Awareness Day is observed on Sunday, August 30, 2026. Founded in 2014 by Angie Cartwright, this annual day breaks the silence surrounding loss, encourages open conversations about bereavement, and promotes support for people navigating any form of emotional pain or grief.
This special day reminds people to reach out to those who are grieving a recent or a long-term loss, as we all grieve differently and for varying lengths of time. Sometimes a loss from years ago is triggered by a recent event, reigniting those feelings of sadness. How can you help?
Here are ways to observe this special day:
Reach out: Send a thoughtful text or call a friend or family member who is carrying a loss.
Listen actively: Let loved ones talk about their experience without rushing them or trying to "fix" it.
Educate yourself: Learn about the non-linear, unpredictable nature of grief and share resources.

Clear vision doesn’t always mean healthy eyes, especially as we age. Many eye diseases can develop gradually without noticeable symptoms, making regular comprehensive eye exams an important part of protecting senior vision. Conditions such as glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), and dry eye can affect older adults. Early detection, through exams, can help support better long-term eye health.

This National Eye Exam Month, make your vision health a priority! For adults 60 and older, regular eye exams can help monitor changes in vision and overall eye health, even when everything seems fine. Don’t wait until you notice a problem! Carolyn Michaelis-Moe, owner of Parent Care, attended this morning's Redlands Chamber of Commerce first "welcome back" meeting after the summer break. Evan Sanford, Executive Director, introduced the presenter of the day, Bryce Bunnell, financial advisor. Bryce brought Peter Manning, a 401k administrator, who presented on all the new regulations for 401k management imposed by the state of California.
Members also heard reports from the fire department, police department, chamber recruiting office, and others. Evan said there were 75 new members for the chamber in the past month, a record!
The presentation about the art projects in North Redlands was also very interesting. The project aims to celebrate the history and people who helped form that section of Redlands. Everyone has been invited to not only participate financially, but also to come and take part in painting the murals!
