Money raised through these events will go directly to the burn victims of the Searsmont explosion, all of whom still have a long road ahead in their recovery.

Congratulations to Holden Firefighters, Jessa-Lynn Ellis and Tyler Rancourt on their completion in the 2026 Penobscot County Fire Academy. WELL DONE ! Thank you for your hard work this last 2 weeks and good luck to all the students this weekend on their state certification practical.

Last night, we had the privilege of recognizing some outstanding young individuals for their courage and bravery.

On Wednesday, July 8th, Holden and Eddington Fire responded to a vehicle fire on Pinkham Road in Holden. Before emergency crews arrived, four local kids ( Mariah Emery, Landon Emery, Griffin Gillis and Owen Gillis) stepped up without hesitation. They did everything they could to help the driver and quickly get help on the way.

Their willingness to help, quick thinking, and genuine concern for someone in need played an important role in the positive outcome of this emergency. It was inspiring to see their excitement and selflessness while trying to manage this situation.

During last night's Town Council meeting, these four young individuals were recognized for their actions and became the first recipients of the Fire Chief's Youth Recognition Award. They also received some Holden Fire swag and, of course, ice cream gift cards!

From everyone at Holden Fire, thank you kids, you all are awesome!

Crews from Holden and Eddington responded to a car fire this afternoon off Pinkham Road in Holden. Car was a total loss, as it was fully involved on arrival. Huge thanks to some local kids who could see the fire under the car and tried to get the driver to stop, then biked back to camp for help and 911. Good job !

The Holden Fire Department would like to congratulate members Edward Davis and Edward Moult and their families on the arrival of their newest additions, Kolton and Henry!

In a pretty special coincidence, both boys arrived on the same day, just hours apart. I do think there was a wager for Chinese food placed on who would arrive first! We’re happy to report that everyone is doing well, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome these two future firefighters to the Holden Fire family.

Congratulations to both families on your healthy baby boys. We wish you all the best as you enjoy this exciting new chapter and make memories that will last a lifetime. Welcome to the world, Kolton and Henry! 🚒👶❤️
