Update 08.29.26: The driver has contacted us. Thank you all for sharing it.

The Holden PD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying an individual involved in a hit-and-run crash that occurred on August 7, 2026, at approximately 10:22 a.m. in the G&M Family Market parking lot near the Dunkin’ drive-thru entrance.

The individual was operating a gray Dodge pickup truck with a flatbed and was pulling a cattle trailer with hay on top. The truck struck a blue Kia Optima that was legally parked near the Dunkin’ drive-thru entrance. The driver then left the scene without reporting the crash.

We are asking anyone who recognizes the individual, truck, or trailer, or who may have information that could assist us in identifying the driver, to please contact the Holden PD at 207 843-5442 or Officer Cardona at [email protected]

As always, we appreciate the assistance of our community. Please share this post to help us identify the individual involved.

Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Brittany Wood Following Multi-Agency Investigation

Media Release

Brewer, Maine

From July 10 through July 14, 2026, the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office conducted an extensive search for Brittany Wood, who was wanted on an active arrest warrant charging Domestic Violence Aggravated Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Following the Sheriff’s Office’s original wanted person announcement, investigators and deputies received numerous tips from members of the public that provided valuable information regarding Wood’s possible whereabouts. During the investigation, investigators also utilized advanced investigative techniques and legal processes to help determine Wood’s approximate location.

On July 14, 2026, with the assistance of the Maine State Police Cellular Analysis Team, the United States Marshals Service Fugitive Apprehension Team, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, and the Brewer Police Department, investigators narrowed Wood’s suspected location to an area in Brewer, Maine. After determining there was a high likelihood that Wood was at the location, investigators established surveillance in the area.

At approximately 7:00 p.m., Wood left the Brewer residence as a passenger in a white pickup truck driven by a male. The vehicle was subsequently stopped by the Brewer Police Department, where Wood was positively identified and taken into custody without incident on her outstanding arrest warrant.

An active investigation into those who assisted Wood is underway.

The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office extends its sincere appreciation to the public for providing information that assisted investigators throughout this investigation.

The Sheriff’s Office also thanks its law enforcement partners for their professionalism and collaboration, including the Maine State Police Cellular Analysis Team, the United States Marshals Service Fugitive Apprehension Team, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, and the Brewer Police Department.
