Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Brittany Wood Following Multi-Agency Investigation

From July 10 through July 14, 2026, the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office conducted an extensive search for Brittany Wood, who was wanted on an active arrest warrant charging Domestic Violence Aggravated Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Following the Sheriff’s Office’s original wanted person announcement, investigators and deputies received numerous tips from members of the public that provided valuable information regarding Wood’s possible whereabouts. During the investigation, investigators also utilized advanced investigative techniques and legal processes to help determine Wood’s approximate location.
On July 14, 2026, with the assistance of the Maine State Police Cellular Analysis Team, the United States Marshals Service Fugitive Apprehension Team, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, and the Brewer Police Department, investigators narrowed Wood’s suspected location to an area in Brewer, Maine. After determining there was a high likelihood that Wood was at the location, investigators established surveillance in the area.
At approximately 7:00 p.m., Wood left the Brewer residence as a passenger in a white pickup truck driven by a male. The vehicle was subsequently stopped by the Brewer Police Department, where Wood was positively identified and taken into custody without incident on her outstanding arrest warrant.
An active investigation into those who assisted Wood is underway.
