enges facing Hawaiʻi. We serve the needs of young keiki, their caregivers, and economically vulnerable youth and families in the Hawaiian community to overcome systematic disparities and historical trauma. Our programs are guided by time-tested values and practices that honor our kuleana for people and place in caring for our islands and communities. E ola ka ‘ohana, may the family thrive. Partners in Development Foundation believes that nurturing family success will ignite their ability to serve others.

Last week our early childhood education programs, Ka Pa‘alana and Nā Pono no Nā ‘Ohana, showed up at Kupa ‘Aina farm to spend time in ‘āina and with each other. The crew w**ded, w**d whacked, cut down banana trees, and prepared lunch with ingredients straight from the farm itself!

These educators and staff showed that they can mālama ‘āina just as well as they can mālama our future generations! And a big "mahalo" to for providing a cool treat for our hard workers! 💚

E ho‘omaika‘i to our Tūtū and Me Traveling Preschool graduates on East Kauaʻi! 🎓

These little ones were celebrated with lei and certificates as they get ready to take their next big step. Watching them beam with pride surrounded by their ‘ohana was a reminder of why this work fills our hearts every single day. 💚

To our keiki: you are so loved and so ready. To the kumu, mākua, and caregivers who walked this journey with them: mahalo. This milestone belongs to you too!

Summer is officially here, and we know our keiki are ready! ☀️

So tell us, is your ‘ohana more mauka or makai? Hiking up to breathe in the view or cooling down by the seashore?

However you spend it, we hope your summer is full of adventure, togetherness, and plenty of shave ice. 🍧

May 29 is 5️⃣2️⃣9️⃣ Day, and we are celebrating!

At PIDF, we believe that every keiki deserves a future full of possibility and that future starts with a plan. Our KA‘A (Keiki Assets Account) program is designed to help families enrolled in our participating programs do exactly that: plan and save for their keiki's educational journey, one small step at a time.

A 529 education savings plan is one of the most powerful tools a family can have. Earnings grow tax-free, anyone in your ‘ohana can contribute, and the funds can be used at colleges, universities, trade schools, apprenticeships, and more. No matter how big or small the contribution, every dollar you save today is a door you are opening for your keiki tomorrow.

We are here to walk alongside you every step of the way. Because investing in your keiki is always worth it. 💚

Kilo i ka mahina a aia ʻoe ma ke ala kūpono. "Look to the moon and you will be on the right path."🌙

Our Ka Pa‘alana keiki graduated this week in a celebration as magical as the little ones we were honoring. Hosted at the beautiful Filipino Community Center, families gathered to mark this milestone with full hearts and a whole lot of aloha. 🌺
Each graduate received a lei and a certificate.

After the ceremony, the celebration truly came alive. ʻOhana enjoyed a delicious spread of food while keiki explored art centers, got their hands deep into play dough, and stepped into a darkened room where glowing animals and sea creatures lit up the walls around them — a little wonder tucked inside a big day.

Just like the moon that guided our theme, these keiki have been a steady, glowing light in everything they do. And now they carry that light with them into their next chapter. 💚

This week we celebrated our littlest graduates at Nā Pono no Nā ʻOhana’s Waimānalo and Kailua sites as they get ready to take their next big step into preschool.

Each keiki was honored with a lei made of crayons - because learning is colorful, and so is their future - and a certificate to mark this milestone. After the ceremony, the celebration was in full bloom! Keiki explored art and crafts centers, splashed around at the water play station, cooled off with shave ice from , and showed off their best faces thanks to the talented .

Congratulations to our newest preschool-bound graduates! 🎓🌺

Aloha e PIDF ‘ohana, friends, and supporters,

On April 13th, we announced that 17 of our early childhood education sites - across Tūtū and Me and Ka Pa‘alana - will need to close at the end of this school year, and our Piha Me Ka Pono Community School partnership program and Kī‘apu Workforce Development program will be impacted. This information is based on funding secured by April 13, 2026. As PIDF continues to advocate for our programs and explore partnership opportunities to sustain our programs, we will announce if more sites and programs have confirmed funding and are able to reopen. We are sincerely grateful to the many partners who have stepped forward in support during this critical time.

PIDF remains steadfast in our mission and committed to pursuing diversified funding and strengthening partnerships. We share this update with deep gratitude for your advocacy and support, with hope that we can move toward solutions that honor our communities and sustain this work for future generations. Several counties and partners have been activated and are working with us to help sustain these essential programs, and we welcome the opportunity for more partnership.

Mahalo for your time and continued aloha for our communities and ‘ohana. E mālama pono.

Many of you have heard of the Native Hawaiian funding cuts that are affecting so many amazing programs across Hawai‘i. Today we’d like to Spotlight out amazing partners Partners In Development Foundation. Specifically we’d like to showcase the amazing partnership with both the Home Visiting Program and the Traveling Preschool.

The Traveling Preschool was one of the first recipients of our very first diaper drive in 2016. After we incorporated under Hawaii Children's Action Network in 2018 the Home Visiting Program became one of our first official partners in 2019 accepting referrals and doing amazing work across Hawai‘i County.

Since our partnership the Home Visiting Program has taken 645 referrals just from us and distributed 716,659 diapers, wipes and other keiki essentials to ‘Ohana in need. They serve and average of 200 keiki every month and come and make Makana Packs not only for their families but for our other partners as well.

The Traveling Preschool has continued to host diaper drives on our behalf brining in 10,664 items for us and linking families to the Home Visiting Program so they can receive diapers regularly. The longevity and dedication of this hui is amazing and we hope that the funding that has been promised by our state and county will see them through this transition. We love you all!

Happy International Family Day from our ‘ohana to yours!

Today we celebrate what has always been at the center of everything we do. Families. Every single thing we pour ourselves into exists because we believe that when families are strong, communities thrive and keiki flourish.

To every caregiver, mākua, tūtū, ‘anakē, ‘anakala, and keiki who has been part of our ‘ohana: Mahalo! You remind us every day why this work is worth it. 🌺💚
