What is PARK(ing) Day?
It’s an one-day international event that activates the metered parking space as a site for creative, political, and cultural expressions that lead to unscripted social interactions. Since its inception in 2005 in San Francisco, temporary mini-parks (aka parklets) are installed in hundreds of cities to demonstrate creative experimentation and activism.
Want to install a parklet?
Step 1:
Review the PARK(ing) Day Manual:https://www.asla.org/uploadedFiles/CMS/Events/Parking_Day_Manual_Consecutive.pdf
Step 2:
Contact us! The Hawaii Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (Hawaii ASLA) will be coordinating PARK(ing) Day in Honolulu.

Interested?
Email our Past Chapter President, Grace Zheng, for further details!

If you would like to be covered by our event insurance and receive help processing the temporary use permit, email Grace by Monday, August 26th.
