We teamed up with Clayridge Trucking to remove over 800 old tires from the community.

Many hands make light work thanks to Conservation students from GST BOCES and Scouts from Troop 43 in Pine City.

Chemung County Conservation Field Days was a hit and the weather was perfect! We had 772 students from all across the Chemung County join in on the opportunity to visit 14 different stations (Each Trail visited 7 Stations) located at Park Station in Erin, NY. Within each of these trails we had presenters from Chemung County Soil and Water Conservation District, Chemung County Federation of Sportsmen, Trout Unlimited - Catherine Creek Chapter, Upper Susquehanna Coalition, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chemung County, Friends of the Chemung River Watershed, Inc., Chemung County Stormwater Coalition, New York State Forest Rangers, Southern Tier Central Regional Planning & Development Board, Department of Environmental Conservation- Forestry Division, and Town of Erin Volunteer Fire Department. Topics included fishing, wetlands, flooding, wildlife identification, forestry, wildfire prevention, recycle relay, and macroinvertebrates. We would not be able to host this event for students if it wasn’t for each and every one of our presenters and the following sponsors: Swarthout's Bait and Tackle Shop, Hillard Corporation, Kennedy Valve, Hesselson’s, Southern Tier Custom Fabricators, Banfield-Baker Corp., and Porter’s Concrete.
