🚔 HOUMA POLICE DEPARTMENT PROMOTIONS 🚔

I am proud to announce the promotions of three members of the Houma Police Department:

Nicole Voisin has been promoted to the rank of Captain and will oversee the department’s specialized divisions.

Brad Cadiere has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and will serve as Chief of Detectives, overseeing the Criminal Investigations Division.

Jeff McElroy has been promoted to the rank of Sergeant and will serve as a supervisor in the Uniform Patrol Division.

Each of these positions carries significant responsibility to our officers and the community we serve. I look forward to working with Captain Voisin, Lieutenant Cadiere, and Sergeant McElroy as they take on their new roles.

Please join me in congratulating them on their promotions and wishing them success in their new assignments.

Today, I have the privilege of announcing the retirement of Captain Daniel Belanger after 33 years of service with the Houma Police Department.

Thirty-three years is a remarkable commitment to this department and to the people of Houma. Captain Belanger has devoted much of his life to serving our community, and his years of service deserve our sincere gratitude and respect.

On behalf of the Houma Police Department, I thank Captain Belanger for his dedication and wish him and his family all the best in retirement.

🚨 WANTED PERSON 🚨

The Houma Police Department is still seeking Tyaarian Queen, 20, in connection with a shooting on June 28, 2025, in the 100 block of Amarillo Drive. During the incident, shots were fired at multiple people attending a very large house party.

Queen has an active arrest warrant for four counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder and one count of Illegal Use of a Weapon. Investigators believe he may still be in the Terrebonne or Lafourche Parish area.

Anyone with information about Queen’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Houma Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division at 985-873-6371 or via email.

Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers Bayou Region at 1-800-743-7433 or www.crimestoppersbr.org⁠. Tips leading to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

The Houma Police Department is partnering with the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission to help reduce crashes and work toward the goal of zero traffic fatalities.

Our traffic safety efforts will focus on:

• Driving while intoxicated
• Seat belt enforcement
• Underage drinking enforcement
• Distracted driving

We’re asking everyone to do their part: wear your seat belt, put your phone away while driving, and make a plan for a sober ride. Those decisions can save lives.

Houma Man Charged with Second Degree Murder Following Fatal Overdose Investigation

On January 9, 2026, Officers with the Houma Police Department responded to the 7400 block of West Park Avenue regarding a medical emergency. Upon arrival, officers located 29-year-old Ruben Rocha of Hockley, Texas suffering from an apparent drug overdose. Despite lifesaving efforts, Mr. Rocha did not survive.

The Houma Police Department’s Narcotics Division assumed the investigation and began examining the circumstances surrounding Mr. Rocha’s death.

Following an extensive investigation, Narcotics Detectives identified Christopher Michael Mosely Jr. as a suspect. Investigators determined that Mosely was allegedly involved in narcotics distribution within the area, which led detectives to obtain and execute a search warrant at his residence.

Based on evidence recovered during the search and information developed throughout the investigation, Detectives determined that Mosely allegedly supplied the narcotics that contributed directly to Mr. Rocha’s death.

On August 10, 2026, Christopher Michael Mosely Jr. was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder. He is currently incarcerated at the Terrebonne Parish Correctional Center on a $1.15 million bond for the following charges:

* Second Degree Murder
* Distribution of Schedule II CDS (Fentanyl)
* Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I CDS — two counts
* Illegal Carrying of a Fi***rm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance
* Possession of Ma*****na
* Distribution of Schedule I CDS
* Possession of a Legend Drug
* Possession of Schedule II CDS
* Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

The Houma Police Department extends its sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Mr. Rocha. This investigation remains active and ongoing, and additional arrests are possible.

Houma Man Arrested for Attempted Home Invasion

On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, Houma Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the 1100 block of Church Street following a report of an attempted home invasion.

Upon arrival, Officers learned that a masked male suspect had attempted to force his way into the residence by kicking the rear door. Through the investigation and a review of surveillance footage, the suspect was identified as Alfred Lee Mosely, 33, of Houma.

Patrol Officers canvassed the surrounding area and located Mosely as he exited a business in the 7500 block of Main Street.

Mosely was arrested and charged with Attempted Home Invasion. He was also arrested on two outstanding warrants stemming from an unrelated incident for Unauthorized Entry into a Place of Business and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile.

Mosely remains incarcerated at the Terrebonne Parish Correctional Center on a $90,000 bond set by local judges.

In recognition of National Forensic Science Week, the Houma Police Department honors the members of its Crime Scene Investigations Division: Lt. Rory Olds, Detective Chad Cunningham, and Detective Katie Belanger.

Their work plays a vital role in the pursuit of justice. Through careful documentation, collection, and preservation of evidence, they help ensure that the facts of a case can be thoroughly examined. Their responsibilities also extend to the courtroom, where their testimony can be crucial in explaining how evidence was collected and handled during a criminal investigation.

The Houma Police Department thanks Lt. Olds, Detective Cunningham, and Detective Belanger for the professionalism, precision, and dedication they bring to every case and for their continued service to our community

🖤💙 HONORING PATROLMAN AUSTIN BUSH 💙🖤

End of Watch: September 16, 2021

Today marks five years since the Houma Police Department suffered the tragic line-of-duty loss of Patrolman Austin Bush.

Though five years have passed, Austin’s memory remains strong within our department and throughout the community he proudly served. His dedication, courage, and commitment will never be forgotten.

Today, we honor Austin’s life, his service, and the sacrifice he made. We ask our community to join us in keeping his family, friends, and fellow officers in their thoughts and prayers.

Forever remembered. Forever our brother.
