Wonderful message from Christina Morales - Representative TX District 145. Wishing everyone a safe Independence Day! 🇺🇸

This year, we observe Independence Day as #justiceforvanessa and #blacklivesmatter weigh heavily on our hearts and minds. Nearly 250 years after the Declaration of Independence promised life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, we can see that this vision has not yet been realized for all Americans. I am inspired by activists of all ages who have shown true patriotism in calling out the systems that have failed us.

While there is still work to be done, today is a day to celebrate those who have brought us this far. From my family to yours, happy Fourth of July! Stay safe by wearing a mask and practicing social distancing.

The low cluster rate from protests are being attributed to 'the fact that many or most protesters were wearing masks, the events were outside, and people were often able to maintain a 6-foot distance.'
