In Hawaiian culture, "Tūtū" (often spelled Tutu) is a loving and respectful term for a grandparent, especially a grandmother, though it can also refer to a grandfather depending on the family. Similar to saying "Grandma" or "Grandpa," it conveys warmth, affection, and honor.
Our Independent Living residents were transported to Tutu's Paradise as we celebrated Feeding the Culture: Hawaiian Tūtū! Residents enjoyed delicious chicken and beef kabobs paired with a fresh pasta salad, expertly prepared by our talented Executive Chef Jeremy G. and Sous Chef Arben V. for creating such a flavorful and memorable dining experience!

All the Places We Go!

Our Independent Living residents enjoyed a wonderful day out in The Woodlands, exploring the Town Center and Waterway. Driven by our amazing driver, Gilardo B., residents took in the scenic views along the Waterway before enjoying a delicious lunch at State Fare Kitchen & Bar.
This trip was filled with laughter, friendship, beautiful sights, and memorable moments. We love creating opportunities for our residents to get out, explore, and make lasting memories together!

Drumming Up Fun in Our Neighborhood!

The rhythm was alive and well in our Memory Care neighborhood as residents enjoyed a lively session of "Drumming It Up!" From tapping out beats to sharing smiles and laughter, everyone joined in the fun while exercising creativity, coordination, and self-expression.

Resident Spotlight: Jerome “Jerry” B.
We are proud to recognize Jerome “Jerry”, a remarkable resident whose contributions helped shape America’s achievements in aerospace and space exploration. A native Texan, Jerry was born and raised in Houston and graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 1963. Just eight months after graduation, at the age of 23, Jerry was hired by NASA during the early years of its Houston expansion and played a role in some of the nation’s most historic space programs.

During his distinguished 42-year career as an Aeronautical Engineer, Jerry worked on numerous pioneering projects, including the Gemini, Apollo, Space Lab, and Apollo-Soyuz Test Project (ASTP) missions, along with several other aerospace initiatives. He also had the opportunity to work closely with Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon, contributing to an era that transformed space exploration and inspired generations around the world. Today, Jerry remains one of our most active residents, enthusiastically participating in community events and signing up for many of the adventurous outings offered by our Assisted Living neighborhood.
