Our Scholar Council Committee is hosting an ofrenda during Hispanic Heritage Month to honor and pay respect to loved ones and ancestors who have passed on. Our Scholar Council is honored and excited to pay tribute to the families in our community throughout the months of September and October.

All Houston Classical families, regardless of background, are warmly welcomed and encouraged to participate in this meaningful tradition. 🌼🕯️

An ofrenda is a temporary display created to welcome and remember loved ones, honor their lives, and give thanks for the time they shared with us here on Earth. Scholars who would like to participate may bring a framed photo of a loved one to be placed on our ofrenda between September 15 and October 15.

Please let your scholar’s teacher know if your scholar will be participating so that our Scholar Council Committee can coordinate the collection of the framed photo.

We are grateful to our HCCS families for trusting us to share and honor the memories of your loved ones. 🦁🕯️⭐️

As many of you know, Building D has been one of our biggest projects at Houston Classical. Intentionally designed with our middle school scholars in mind, this space was created to help prepare them for the opportunities and experiences that lie ahead.

To celebrate this milestone and express our gratitude, we hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with the generous donors who helped make this dream a reality, along with a few of our scholars who shared heartfelt reflections on their journeys with Houston Classical from the very beginning.

As we continue to grow, we can’t help but reflect on the families, donors, and supporters who have been part of our journey since the opening of our school in 2020. These past six years have been filled with joy, growth, and tremendous moments of impact. It has been inspiring to witness not only the difference we’ve made within our school community but also the movement and generosity of those who continue to believe in our mission.

To our families, donors, and supporters, thank you for being part of the Houston Classical journey. Your continued belief in our mission means so much to us, and we look forward to sharing even more exciting news and milestones in the months to come!

Stay tuned! 🦁✨

We’re excited to share a few of our scholars from Spirit Day: Crazy Hair on Friday, September 11th! 🦁✨

Our scholars did an amazing job getting creative with their hairstyles! We absolutely love our Spirit Day themes and seeing our HCCS community come together to participate and show their school spirit. 🎉

Our next Spirit Day will be September 25th: Jersey Day! 🏀🏈⚽️🏐

Our scholars will have the opportunity to show off their favorite sports teams by wearing their favorite jerseys!

Parents, please be advised: While scholars may wear jerseys for Jersey Day, they are still required to follow the school uniform dress code. This includes wearing school appropriate uniform bottoms.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to the front office.

We can’t wait to see our scholars showcase their favorite sports teams! 🦁✨

Today, we pause to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the courage of the first responders, service members, and everyday citizens who ran toward danger to help others.

At Houston Classical, we believe education is about more than academics. It is about shaping scholars who understand history, who feel empathy for those who came before them, and who grow into citizens capable of courage, sacrifice, and service to their communities.

Today is a moment to reflect on those values with our scholars, honoring the memory of those we lost while reminding our children of the unity, resilience, and love of country.

We will never forget 🇺🇸
