We are excited to share an update on our new campus building. While construction is still underway, we wanted to give you a glimpse of the incredible progress being made inside the future home of our middle school scholars.

Today, we’re proud to highlight our founder, Deyvis R. Salazar, whose belief in rigorous academics and character development helped bring Houston Classical Charter School to life in 2020.

His journey in education spans more than a decade, including co-founding The Neighborhood Charter School of Harlem in 2012, an institution that became New York State’s highest-performing independent charter school in English Language Arts and Mathematics.

At Houston Classical, that vision is reflected in the daily experience of our scholars through rigorous academics, strong character development, and a culture of high expectations.

We’re grateful for the impact of his leadership in building schools that consistently raise academic outcomes while strengthening character and confidence across New York and Houston communities.

Rain or shine, we made sure to keep our scholars excited for the big day! ☀️🌧️

We’re excited to share moments from last Friday’s Field Day, where our scholars challenged each other in games like the egg-and-spoon race, potato sack race, water balloon toss, and water bucket relay. To end the day, our Assistant Principal, Ms. Lim, surprised our scholars with a special treat — the chance to throw water balloons at our teachers! 💦🎈🎉

A special thank you to our staff for making this day so memorable for our scholars, and to our parents who joined us and even participated in a few games themselves. Your support and enthusiasm made the day even more special!

We’re excited to share a recap of our 4th Annual Foundational Dinner! Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the evening so special. Thanks to the generosity of our incredible guests and supporters, we are proud to share that we raised over $1.2 million.

Houston Classical is deeply grateful for your support. We cannot fully express how impactful your generosity is in advancing our mission and enriching the lives of our scholars. Because of your support this year, we are able to continue expanding and strengthening our special education program, provide our scholars with the high-quality education they deserve, and further advance the mission of Houston Classical.

This morning, we hosted our STAAR Breakfast to celebrate the achievements of our 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th-grade scholars! Friends and family had the opportunity to join their scholars for breakfast and offer encouragement as they gear up to “Pass ‘Em All” with STAAR tests starting Tuesday, April 14th. We’re so proud of their hard work and can’t wait to see them shine! 🤩✏️
