After three months of expert care at the Houston SPCA Wildlife Center, a rehabilitated bald eagle has been released back into his natural habitat in Anahuac, Texas.
The eagle was found near the Jocelyn Nungaray National Wildlife Refuge on March 20, unable to survive on his own, with wildlife specialists suspecting a traumatic head injury, possibly from being struck by a vehicle. He was brought in by a U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service game warden for lifesaving care.
At the Houston SPCA Wildlife Center, he received daily monitoring, medical treatment, and flight conditioning to rebuild strength and endurance for life in the wild.
A powerful reminder of the lifesaving work happening every day through wildlife rehabilitation and second chances. π¦
