Yesterday’s Trunk Or Treat event was absolutely incredible! During these times, it was great seeing hundreds of children dressing up in their favorite costumes. The smiles on their little faces was priceless. Thank you to all of the parents that brought their kids for a night filled with treats and fun.

Our Precinct 6 employees set up ten different stations with a decorated vehicle at each station. With the help of our employees, each and every station had enough treats for over 500 kids!
Thank you to our event partners, State Representative Ana Hernandez, newly elected Precinct 6 Justice of the Peace Victor Treviño III, and East End District for making this event possible.

This was our first ever Trunk Or Treat event but after seeing all of the smiles on the children’s faces, it certainly won’t be our last!

Today is World Stroke Day, a day to help raise awareness of stroke prevention and inform people of the signs of a stroke so that they can potentially save a life. Whether you are younger, older, or somewhere in between, recognizing the signs of a stroke can help save your life or the life of another.

Strokes are treatable but immediate treatment is crucial in survival and recovery. Remember the B.E. F.A.S.T. acronym and seek help immediately if you are experiencing signs of a stroke!

Sylvia has worked as a dispatcher for nearly fourteen Honorable years at Precinct 6 and while we are sad to see her go, we are happy for her as she begins a new chapter in life. She plans on spending more time with her grandchildren and looks forward to doing more traveling in the future.

We would like to thank Sylvia for serving as the lifeline to our deputies and our community throughout these years and wish her a long, healthy, and happy retirement!

Today is the start of Red Ribbon Week, which runs from October 23-31. It's a great time to talk to your children or grandchildren about the dangers of drugs. While many of our schools participate in Red Ribbon Week annually, we know that some children are still learning remotely and may miss out on learning about the dangers of drugs this year. As parents, let's do our part to make sure our kids are educated and never tempted to try drugs!
“Be Happy. Be Brave. Be Drug Free.”

Yesterday Precinct 6, in partnership with the Houston Humane Society, distributed over 3,000 lbs. of pet food at our drive-thru pet pantry event, which amounts to over 15,000 meals for our furry friends! The turnout was great and some attendees brought their adorable pets along with them. 🐱🐶

Thank you to the Houston Humane Society for their continued partnership with Precinct 6; without them, this event would not have been possible! We plan on hosting more events like this in the near future, so stay tuned!

The suspect was transported and booked into Harris County Joint Processing Center.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Precinct 6 is proudly participating. Throughout October, many of our Precinct 6 deputies will be bearing a pink badge or patch in support of our breast cancer warriors.

Nearly one in eight women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime and early detection plays a key role in treatment and recovery.
Let’s continue to help raise breast cancer awareness and emphasize the importance of annual mammograms and checkups. It’s been a challenging year for all of us and now, more than ever, it’s time to think about our personal health. If you haven’t already, schedule your annual checkup before the year is over.

Crime Report ⚠️
September 20, 2020 🕛
Golfcrest 🌎

At approximately 3:30 a.m., Deputy Garduno initiated a traffic stop near the 6500 block of Eppes St. on a vehicle that had three occupants. The driver and the front passenger exited the vehicle and refused to comply with commands to get back in the vehicle. Deputy Garduno observed the front passenger toss a clear plastic baggy on the ground and the driver continued to reach inside of his pockets. Deputy Garduno requested backup and the suspects were all detained.

Deputies discovered multiple clear baggies containing Cocaine and aluminum foil filled with Cocaine. The suspects all denied ownership and deputies contacted the District Attorney’s Office. The District Attorney’s Office accepted charges on all three suspects for 2nd Degree Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. The suspects were transported to Harris County Jail for booking. During processing, another plastic baggy with a white powder substance was located on one of the suspects.

The total weight of the Cocaine found in the possession of the suspects was 11.02 grams.

Great work Deputy Garduno!

Thank you Officer James Tran for your quick response this morning. Here within 10 mins of call. We called HPD @ 5am Because of break in vehicles and still waiting.
Can ANYTHING be done about the tow truck drivers? Just today I’m in the left lane going forward when one jumps in front of me from the right lane almost striking my car all to get to a minor accident. This token policy is absurd. You guys need to consider a contract that lasts a year and change out companies. They’re dangerous and today almost caused a major accident to get to a minor accident.
When are you going to charge your officer who killed Nicholas Chavez?? Where is the body cam footage?? Where is the external investigation??
Ya'll murdered this man. How do you justify this shooting?

Much kudos to the men and women of Precinct 6. Some of us in the community meet up every Tuesday as a run group and get some miles in. Last week, some of our members were harassed by passing motorists. A request was submitted for additional presence this Tuesday. Low and behold, we witnessed many officers in the area ensuring our safety. Much appreciated!
