On August 29, 2026, at approximately 4:10 p.m., Deputy Gilliam and Deputy Espinosa observed a Hispanic male riding a bicycle who matched the description of a suspect previously observed on video displaying a handgun in the Harrisburg area.

Deputies recognized the male as the individual depicted in the video and made contact with him. The male was identified as Jose Ramon Hernandez-Ramirez, and he was detained for further investigation. During the investigation, deputies confirmed that the detained male was the same individual observed in the video possessing and displaying the handgun. The male was also in possession of two crack pipes.

Further investigation revealed that the male was a convicted felon and was currently out on bond.

After reviewing the information provided by deputies, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted a charge of Felon in Possession of a Firearm against the male.

The male was placed into custody and transported to the Harris County Jail.

Today is Women’s Equality Day, a day honoring the historic fight for women’s right to vote and the passage of the 19th Amendment in 1920.

On this Women’s Equality Day, I want to honor and thank the women who came before me. The pioneers who stood up, spoke out, and fought for equality and the rights we have today.

As a Latina, I’m especially grateful for those who paved the way for women like me to have a voice in our community. As a result of their courage and determination, women have the opportunity to vote, to lead in our community, and to run for public office.

Sergeant Garcia was patrolling near the 4100 block of Telephone Rd. when he initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling with no front license plate. During the traffic stop, Sergeant Garcia observed a bag appearing to be crystal m**h in the back seat of the vehicle.

Deputy Cruz assisted at the scene and detained the suspect. The crystal m**h was weighed at 29 grams and charges were filed with the District Attorney’s Office for Possession of a Controlled Substance. The suspect, Mandi Greenough, was transported to Harris County Jail for booking.

At approximately 4:05 p.m., Sergeant Garcia conducted a traffic stop on a male doing wheelies and recklessly riding a dirt bike on a roadway. Further investigation revealed that the dirt bike had been reported stolen.

Charges were filed with the District Attorney’s Office for Reckless Driving on the suspect, Jaylon Johnson, and he was transported to Harris County Jail for booking.

Wanted Suspect With 5 Out of State Warrants Arrested

Sergeant Reed was patrolling near the 3300 block of Telephone Rd. when he was flagged down by an employee of a gas station regarding a male suspect refusing to leave the business.

The male suspect was identified as Angel Perez-Herrera and he was found to have five open warrants out of Maryland for Armed Robbery, Assault (1st Degree), Assault (2nd Degree), Felon in Possession of a Weapon, and Felony Theft. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to Harris County Jail for processing.

At approximately 4:20 p.m., Deputy Jimenez located narcotics in plain view near 3300 Telephone Rd. Upon further investigation, the call for service was changed to a narcotics investigation resulting in the seizure of 84 pills of amphetamine.

Suspects, Coravious Wallace and Lance Faultry were both charged with 2nd Degree Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance group 2, and transported to Harris County Jail for booking.

At approximately 3:20 p.m., Deputy Quintana was dispatched to a suspicious person call for service near 3333 Telephone Rd. Upon arrival, the deputy observed Offender #1 exiting the business with a shopping cart containing merchandise and passing all points of sale without paying. Upon seeing the marked patrol vehicle, Offender #1 fled toward a vehicle and entered the passenger side, where Offender #2 was located. Both males were detained, and all stolen merchandise, valued at approximately $966.64, was recovered.

Suspect #1 was charged with Class A Theft. Suspect #2 was charged with Unlawful Carry of A Weapon. Both suspects, Ruben Powell and John Rodriguez were transported to Harris County Jail for booking.

As families settle back into their school-year routines, make the PARK • LOOK • LOCK routine part of yours.

If you have children, grandchildren, or pets, take a few extra seconds every time you take a trip in your vehicle to ensure you do the following:

1️⃣ PARK your vehicle.
2️⃣ LOOK in the back seat and throughout the vehicle for any occupants.
3️⃣ LOCK your vehicle only after you’ve made sure everyone is safely out.

No parent thinks they could forget a child in a vehicle, yet these tragedies happen every year. A simple habit can help prevent one.
