๐ŸŒป๐Ÿ’› Itโ€™s that time of year again! ๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŒป

June is Rae of Sunshine Month in Hughestown, and weโ€™re asking everyone to help Color Hughestown Yellow in memory of Raeann Rose Merlino.

Letโ€™s fill our porches, yards, windows, businesses, and streets with yellow ribbons, flowers, bows, balloons, signs, and decorations. Every splash of yellow is a reminder of the love, kindness, and sunshine Rae brought to so many lives.

๐Ÿ’› Show your support. ๐ŸŒป Share your decorations. ๐Ÿ’› Encourage your neighbors to join in. ๐ŸŒป Help us make Hughestown shine bright all month long.

Together, letโ€™s make Hughestown yellow again and celebrate the beautiful legacy of our Rae of Sunshine.

Hughestown Borough would like to Congratulate Tyler Jenkins, Adelio Merlino, and Chris Yacovelli for their achievements and also thank them for their dedicated service to our community! Thank you and great work!

This afternoon, members from Station 143 traveled to PNC Field in Moosic to attend the Geisinger Emergency Medical Services Provider of the Year Awards held during the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton RailRiders game.

This year, our department was honored to have three members nominated for acts of heroism and outstanding service.

In December, while operating at a working structure fire, Sergeant Adelio Merlino and Foreman Chris Yacovelli removed a victim from the basement of the burning residence. After bringing the victim to safety, they immediately initiated resuscitation efforts. Adelio continued to assist the responding Advanced Life Support crew with lifesaving measures.

Lieutenant Tyler Jenkins was recognized for his role in our department's response to the February Lehigh Valley Hospital-Dickson City fire and mass casualty incident. Alongside his partner, Sergeant Adelio Merlino, Tyler responded with our ambulance, assisted during the early stages of the incident, and played a key role in the rapid and safe transport of a critically ill patient experiencing an active STEMI to Geisinger Community Medical Center.

We are proud to announce that Adelio Merlino and Chris Yacovelli were selected as the recipients of the Heroism Award.

We are extremely proud of all three nominees for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to serving others. Their actions reflect the highest standards of emergency medical services and bring great honor to our department and community.

Please join us in congratulating Adelio, Chris, and Tyler on this well-deserved recognition.
