Hughestown Emergency Services

Hughestown Emergency Services Loyalty ~ Pride ~ Honor ~ Courage The hose company provides many services to Hughestown Borough and surrounding communities.

In the year 1907 an organization was formed by a group of town’s men to prevent property damage from natural disasters, protect the nearby coal breaker #9, and lives of the town people. Not until the year 1908 on February 11th, this organization was incorporated under the name of the Hughestown Hose Company No. 1 located at 30 Center Street in Hughestown Borough. Today the department offers the fo

llowing services; Fire / Rescue, Emergency Medical Services, Fire Police, Rapid Intervention, Bariatric Transport, and a Wildland Strike Team. Over the years the growing department of proud and hard-working members of the Hughestown Hose Company #1 made this department what it is today, which is still as strong as it was on February 11th, 1908.

Recently, we proudly unveiled a new logo that represents more than just our department — it represents our identity, our tradition, and the mentality behind who we are as responders and as a family. 🖤

The inspiration behind this design comes from the legendary WWII Black Sheep Squadron 🛩, a unit known for turning a group of determined individuals from different backgrounds into one of the most respected fighting forces in the Pacific. They earned their reputation through grit, sacrifice, teamwork, and always answering the mission when others wouldn’t. 🔥

That same spirit exists here at Hughestown Emergency Services.

Like the Black Sheep Squadron, our department is made up of officers, firefighters, EMTs, drivers, and volunteers — all bringing different skills and personalities together for one purpose: protecting our community. When the tones drop 🔔, we operate as one team.

Over the years, our community and neighboring departments have learned something about Hughestown Emergency Services — when situations get out of control, when manpower is stretched thin, or when conditions are at their worst, we are the company that people rely on. 🚒

Not because we seek recognition, but because we have built a reputation for showing up, stepping forward, and handling the job when it matters most.

This new logo represents:
🚒 Commitment under pressure
🚑 Brotherhood & sisterhood
🔥 Pride in service
🤝 Loyalty to each other and our community
🖤 The willingness to answer the call no matter the hour

The Black Sheep reputation was never built through words — it was built through action. Through showing up during the hardest moments and earning trust one mission at a time.

This logo is more than a design. It is a symbol of the Black Sheep mentality that lives within Hughestown Emergency Services every single day.

🚨 Our Creed:

“Ordinary people. Uncommon commitment.
Different backgrounds. One mission.
When the tones drop, we answer together.”

Today, our paid Borough Driver responded to 7 calls for service, including a structure fire, two motor vehicle accidents, a brush fire, wires down, and two medical calls.

This post is not meant to brag or seek recognition, but rather to express our sincere gratitude for the support that makes this level of service possible. We want to thank Borough Council, Mayor Hoban, and Manager Jones for continuing to work with us to ensure our truck is staffed each week. Their support allows us to better serve our community when emergencies happen.

We also want to recognize the many people behind the scenes who make days like today possible — from our officers and staff members to every member who dedicates their time and effort to this department. A special thank you also goes out to our mutual aid partners from the Dupont Hose Company for their continued support and teamwork whenever called upon.

Most importantly, thank you to the residents and community members who continue to support us. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve this community in this capacity, and we look forward to continuing to move this department forward with positive advancements for the future.

As always, thank you for your continued support and trust in our department.
