đźšš Touch-A-Truck Has Been Rescheduled! đźš’

Due to the weather, our Touch-A-Truck event has officially been moved to Sunday, June 21st! We appreciate everyone’s understanding and can’t wait to welcome everyone for a day full of family fun.

Since our new date falls on Father’s Day, we want to do something special for all the dads, grandfathers, and father figures in our community. Bring Dad out to see his heroes, from fire trucks and police vehicles to construction equipment and other big rigs. Let’s be honest, dads are often just as excited about the trucks as the kids are! 🚒🚓🚜

🎉 As a special Father’s Day thank-you, all fathers will receive FREE admission to the event! 🎉

Come climb aboard the vehicles, meet local first responders, learn about the equipment that serves our community, and create memories the whole family will enjoy.

đź“… Sunday, June 21st
⏰ 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM
📍 824 Mcalpine St, Avoca

We look forward to seeing everyone on June 21st for a great day of trucks, fun, and celebrating the dads who inspire us every day! ❤️💙

🚨🚨Big news!
We’ve received a grant from Norfolk Southern’s Safety First Grant Program!

The Avoca Fire Department is proud to announce that we’ve received a grant from Norfolk Southern Railroad to purchase F500 Encapsulator Agent, a non‑cancerous, PFAS‑free firefighting foam. This new foam replaces our old AFFF product, which is known to contain cancer‑causing chemicals.

This upgrade means safer operations for our firefighters and better protection for our community and environment. Thank you to Norfolk Southern for supporting the health and safety of Avoca.

We’re grateful to for recognizing our work and supporting communities like ours across the country

On this International Firefighter’s Day, 112 Rescue, Chief, and Utility spent the afternoon in Duryea at a 3rd alarm commercial building fire. Due to the size and condition of the building, defensive operations were performed from the start to get the fire under control, and a 2nd & 3rd alarm were struck for manpower. Crews operated for approximately 3 hours before returning to service.
