Last night, members did an overview/orientation w the newest addition to the Rescue's equipment cache, a grip hoist.
The grip hoist is ideal for pulling/lifting operations and can be quickly utilized for vehicle stabilization, advanced vehicle roll techniques, trench rescue applications, lifting operations along with rope rescue scenarios.
The team will continue training with the new appliance before officially placing it in service.
Just another tool in the "tool box" to better serve the community!

Engine and Chief responded into Lower Moosic overnight for a 2nd alarm house fire on Main Street.

Thank you to Plains Twp Fire Dept for standing by at our station while we operated at this incident as most of our mutual aid partners were also committed to the fire

Airport Rd (Rt 315) from Main St in Dupont going towards the West Airport Roundabout in Avoca is closed to all traffic due to an incident at the entrance to the Petro Truck Stop.

Join us as we welcome WNEP meteorologist Joe Snedeker to Avoca for the final stop of Go Joe 29, his annual charity bike ride benefiting Saint Joseph’s Center.

For 29 years, Go Joe has brought communities together across Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania to raise awareness and support for the children and adults served by Saint Joseph’s Center.

2 runs for the Rescue up to the interstate today along with our mutual aid partners from Dupont Volunteer Fire Department and Greater Pittston Regional Ambulance. Greenwood Fire Dept also assisted on the second after being dispatched to the same crash in their own area.
