Southport High School celebrated Future Educator Signing Day!

Students signed letters committing to pursue a career in education and take the next step toward becoming future teachers, mentors, and leaders. 🍎📚 After completing their education program, they are also guaranteed an interview with Perry Township Schools.

It’s always special seeing students choose a career that will impact so many future generations. We’re proud of these Cardinals and excited to see where this path takes them. 💛

Ten Southport Elementary School students were gifted new bikes, helmets, and locks thanks to the generosity of Dakich Cycles for the City and the Perry Township Education Foundation (PTEF)!

Teachers helped select students who consistently show great behavior, stay on task, listen well, and always do the right thing. 💛

Look at those smiles! Thank you to Dan Dakich and Leigh Dakich for making these students’ day and to everyone who helped make this possible!

The Southport High School Mini Movers club presented modified Power Wheels to children with disabilities during Night of Engineering.

Students spend months working on these cars to help give kids more independence, mobility, and fun. Seeing the families pick them up during the event is always such a special moment. 👏🛻✨

Such a great example of students using their skills to make a real difference in the lives of others!

Students in Engineering and Computer Science at Southport High School recently wrapped up the semester by presenting their final projects!

After months of planning, designing, testing, and problem solving, students had the chance to show off everything they’ve been working on and explain the thinking behind their projects. 💻⚙️

Great job to all of the students and staff involved! 👏

Glenns Valley 5th graders got a special visit from 2026 Indy 500 Festival Princess, Pilar Bravo! 👑🏎️

She spent time teaching students about the history and traditions of the Indianapolis 500 before they broke into teams to create their own race teams.. 🏁

Thank you, Pilar, for inspiring our students and bringing the excitement of Indy 500 season to Glenns Valley! 💙

Beginning July 1, 2026, a new Indiana state law (SB 78) will require all K-12 schools to implement a “bell-to-bell” restriction on personal wireless devices during the school day.

This means cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, headphones, and other personal smart devices must be powered off and inaccessible throughout the school day.

We understand this change may be frustrating for some students and families. While Perry Township Schools is required to follow Indiana state law, we are currently working with teachers to identify other resources that comply with the law to meet student needs that personal devices may have supported in the past.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support.

Earlier this year, preschoolers in Ms. Hauber’s class created drawings inspired by the book “Color Monsters.” Those drawings were then sent over to the Rosa Parks Elementary Student Council, who turned them into real stuffed animals through a sewing project. 🧵💛

This week, the Rosa Parks Elementary Student Council took a trip to the preschool to surprise the students with the finished creations!

Such a sweet project that let students be creative, work together, and do something really meaningful for the preschoolers.
