Riviera Swimming

A first-class, year-round guided age-group swim program. Members of the Riviera Swim Team learn the values of sportsmanship and team work.

The team philosophy is one in which allows swimmers to participate fully. Our aim is to develop the whole swimmer, maintain a quality swim program and prepare young athletes for the challenges of life through their involvement in swimming. One of the wonderful aspects of swimming for a USA club in the fact that full participation is possible. Once a swimmer has mastered a few basic skills, he or she is eligible to compete, set goals and try to go as far as their talent, commitment and desire will allow. At the same time, a swimmer on a team receives the full benefits of a team concept and team effort. Thus the swimmer enjoys the best of both worlds. He or she is involved in an individual sport where progress is important and rewarded, and at the same time is involved with a team where good sportsmanship, discipline, team support, and effort are equally rewarded. Head Coach Therese Love’s goal for the coaching staff is to set the practice schedule so that she can maintain contact with all aspects of the team, from lessons to the senior swimmers. Our practice schedule will allow assistants to work or be visible to the older swimmers. The advantage of this arrangement is that all the staff is able to maintain a perspective as far as the team goes, the swimmers learn to accept other authority and benefit from different approaches and methods that still are goal oriented to the same outcome. Therese believes all the swimmers at Rivi are made more comfortable with this arrangement and the bonus is that hopefully there is little trauma when a swimmer is moved from one group to another.

Hooray for bonus summer! ☀️🏊‍♀️🎉

While nearly every other outdoor pool in the city shuts down this weekend, we get to keep swimming under the sun for a few more weeks. And we couldn’t be happier about it!

Diving into high school swimming is a big deal. ❤️🏊

Each year, we send our Rivi freshmen off with a personalized travel bag as they begin their high school swimming careers. It’s our way of making sure a little piece of Rivi is always with them — even when they’re swimming under another team’s banner.

This year, nine Rivi freshmen will represent four local high schools, and we can’t wait to see what they accomplish:

Our fearless leader, Coach Therese Love, celebrated an astonishing 50 years at the Rivi this summer! ❤️🏊‍♀️

While Therese would always prefer to put the spotlight back on her swimmers, the Rivi Swim Team couldn’t let a milestone like this pass without a celebration.

Over five decades at the Rivi, Therese has taught thousands of kids to swim, helped countless swimmers achieve incredible success in Indiana swimming and beyond, and — most importantly — helped generations of young people build confidence, resilience and a lifelong love of the water.

We celebrated with cake, a custom new chair for all those long swim meets, and an oil painting of the Rivi — so a little piece of the pool she’s given so much to is always with her. ❤️

Thank you, Therese, for 50 years of teaching, coaching, cheering, believing and making Rivi what it is.

You’re a legend.

Ain’t no party like a Rivi pool party! 🎉🏊‍♀️🍕

The Rivi Swim Team kicked off short course season with pizza, pool games and plenty of laughs. Rescue regattas, tube races, beach ball challenges and other shennanigans made for a pretty great afternoon at the pool. ❤️🖤

Rivi takes on open water! 🏊‍♀️🌙

Rivi swimmers Sophie Spataro and Clara Haley traded lane lines for open water this weekend, completing the Swim to the Moon 5K in Michigan alongside fellow Riviera Club members and mom-daughter duo Laura and Noa Calili.

The group swam 3.1 miles through a chain of five lakes — their second year taking on the challenge together.

We love seeing Rivi swimmers — and Riviera Club members — taking their love of the water beyond the pool. Congratulations to Sophie, Clara, Noa and Laura on an awesome 5K! ❤️🖤
