It's hard to believe that the first month of our new school year is already over, but we can't wait to see what else this year has in store!

For weeks, our Teacher-Mentors have been hard at work preparing for these first few weeks of our new school year. Thanks to them, this 11th year of life-changing mentorship is off to a fantastic start!

We have so much in store for Elevate this year, including the expansion of our Impact Center to include a space designed by and for our students. A space to gather, grow, thrive, and simply be kids. Most importantly, it's another space for meaningful, long-term relationships to unfold.

In our classroom, we’re creating a foundation of strong character and life skills that our students will foster in every area of their Elevate experience.

Students begin by assessing their skills, interests, values, and attitudes so they are better prepared to explore future opportunities. During their years with Elevate, they continue to put these lessons into action by creating positive social change in their community through services projects and tutoring. And all along the way, they engage in regular check-ins with their Teacher-Mentors, ensuring that they stay focused on their goals.

Thanks to a generous anonymous donor, over the last two days, 36 Class of 2026 college-bound Elevate alumni, shopped online for $300 of dorm and college supplies! Class of 2026 grads from Purdue Poly, George Washington, and Arsenal Tech were at our Impact Center!

Special thanks to each of the involved Elevate team members for doing the online shopping, each updating their Student Growth Assessments (SGA) and enjoying mentoring time together!

Our Teacher-Mentors are committed to providing safe spaces for students to gain life-changing experiences and pursue the bright futures they deserve.

Adam Johnson is one such Teacher-Mentor. Since 2019, he has been changing lives in our city's schools. When asked about his "why," he said:

"My 'why' is helping students discover opportunities they may never have imagined and equipping them with the skills, confidence, and relationships to build a brighter future."

We are grateful for Adam's committment to bridging gaps for our students to pursue upward mobility. Thank you for what you do, Adam!
