Indianapolis parks are where you connect with your neighbors, with nature, and with yourself.

That's why Par for Parks matters to us. Partners and friends spent the day raising money for parks across the city, from pocket parks to big regional ones. The goal: keep them in good shape for the kids who will grow up there.

Thank you, Shrewsberry, for presenting this year's outing and everyone who joined us in support of Indy Parks and Recreation.

Six seasons. One river. A whole lot of family. 🍁

Belmont Beach became the Westside’s backyard. Kids play around the stage, neighbors on the sand, music by the river.

On October 17 we close out Season 6 together, and we’re doing it big.
Change is coming to the river. The Emrichsville Dam is coming out, which opens the White River back up right here in Haughville.

Across the street, Rev. Mozel Sanders Park is getting new investment as part of the Haughville Riverfront Vision Plan. We’re celebrating the season we built and introducing what’s next for the park and the neighborhood around it.

The Indy Parks and Recreation proposed 2027 budget is close to $54 million, about 7% more than this year. It names Jack Butler Park; Decatur Township's first park center; playground resurfacing at Juan Solomon Park; renovations at Reverend Mozel Sanders Park; and Riverside Park; plus $2.5 million for aquatics. The public hearing is tonight at the City-County Council; the vote is October 19. Stay up to date by following Indy Parks or tuning in online.

The slight increase to the Indy Parks budget includes more money for facility maintenance and pay adjustments for employees.

It was a beautiful day at Winding River Golf Course for the 2nd Annual Par for Parks presented by Shrewsberry. Thank you to everyone who came out to support our parks and public spaces and to have a bit of extra fun along the way (including sinking a few putts with a Frank's Paddlesports Livery paddle). We'll drop a full album soon!

Our 2nd Annual Par for Parks Golf Outing presented by Shrewsberry is tomorrow, and it's not too late to skip a day at the office and join us. Sign up as a team or come as a solo golfer. Either way, it'll be a great day!

Over 300 volunteers are spending a few hours giving back across Indy Parks and Recreation today.

Eli Lilly and Company's Global Day of Service is providing support to Grassy Creek, Dubarry, Riverside, Haughville, Hawthorne and Stringtown today, with Brookside finished early on Tuesday. Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. is running the work on the ground, as they have for years.

Playgrounds remulched. Parking lots restriped. Picnic tables and benches repainted. At Riverside, volunteers started a new mural on the pump building, curated by Indianapolis artist Israel Solomon and drawn from the Taggart Memorial architecture, plus fresh paint inside the family center. At Brookside, a new picnic knoll across from the family center and erosion control on the hillside above the footbridge.

Thank you to Lilly, KIB, and the Indy Parks staff who lined up every project. KIB turns 50 this year and Lilly turns 150. Good week for these parks.

Holliday Park is 95 acres of woods and trails on the White River, and the upcoming fall season is when it really shows off. Indy Parks and Recreation counts more than 400 species of trees, shrubs and wildflowers here, along with natural springs, wetlands and a beech-maple forest soon to change color. Grounds are open dawn to dusk. Send this to the person you owe a walk.
