BIGHOMIE FOUNDATION INC. | FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS đź–¤
Q: How can I donate?
Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. Monetary donations help us purchase food, hygiene products, clothing, water, and other essentials for those we serve each week. You can also support us by purchasing items directly from our Amazon Wishlist.

Q: How can I volunteer my time?
It’s simple. Show up on Sunday around noon with a helping heart and hands ready to serve. We always welcome volunteers. If you’re able, we encourage you not to come empty-handed. Bringing food, drinks, clothing, hygiene items, or other donations helps us make sure we can continue serving everyone who comes to us in need.
Q: What items do you need?
We are always in need of bottled water, hygiene products, socks, clothing, blankets, non-perishable food, serving supplies, and other essential items. Our Amazon Wishlist is updated with many of our current needs and is one of the easiest ways to support our mission.
Q: When and where does this event take place?
We serve every Sunday beginning at 12:00 PM until supplies run out. You can find us downtown Indianapolis at the corner of Washington Street and Alabama Street.
Q: Who is welcome?
Everyone is welcome. Whether you’re experiencing homelessness, struggling to make ends meet, hungry, or simply in need of food, clothing, or hygiene items, our goal is to serve our community with dignity, compassion, and without judgment.
Q: How many people do you serve each week?
On average, we serve 200 to 300 meals every Sunday, and that number continues to grow as the need in our community increases.
Q: What is the long-term goal of BigHomie Foundation?
Our mission is to help as many people as possible by providing meals, essential resources, and hope. As we continue to grow with the support of our community, our vision is to one day open a community event center where we can expand our services, connect people with valuable resources, and work toward creating pathways to more stable and secure housing.
Q: What is BigHomie Foundation’s position on the homelessness camping ban?
We believe homelessness should be met with compassion, not criminalization. When affordable housing, shelter space, and resources are limited, simply making it illegal for someone to sleep outside does not solve homelessness. We believe lasting solutions come from investing in people, expanding access to resources, and leading with humanity. We hope decisions affecting our most vulnerable neighbors are made with compassion, understanding, and a commitment to creating real opportunities rather than additional barriers.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support BigHomie Foundation. Whether you donate, volunteer, share our posts, or simply believe in our mission, you are helping us make a difference in the lives of hundreds of people every single week. ❤️
