Save the date! The Community Coalition for Healthy Youth and the Rural Health Institute of New York are putting on “Supporting Tompkins County Youth: From Data to Action,” a community event for parents, providers, and other community members on Monday, June 1st, from 5:30pm - 7:00pm, at the Tompkins County Public Library (101 E. Green St., Ithaca). This event will explore the latest local data on teen health and what it tells us about youth well-being in our community.

Trump and his Republican cronies are trying to pass a budget that includes $1 billion for Trump’s ballroom, $1 billion per day for their illegal war in Iran, $70 billion for ICE and CBP. The GOP's reconciliation proposal contains nothing for our families to help with the cost of groceries, gas, and more that they've driven up with their disaterous policies.

Important update from Democracy Docket on the SAVE America Act, which the U.S. Senate is debating today. This bill would make it difficult for millions of eligible Americans to register to vote by requiring citizens to present a birth certificate or passport in person to register.

ERA NOW has launched the Driving the Vote for Equality Tour, an ambitious national effort led by Maloney's organization ERA NOW with partner groups. Beginning in New York City and traveling across 25 states, the tour echoes the original suffrage drive and shines a spotlight on the unfinished business of American democracy: recognizing the Equal Rights Amendment as the 28th Amendment to the Constitution.

Some bright spots in the news! On Tuesday, Alex Holladay flipped a seat in the Arkansaw State Legislature, a state Trump won by double digits. Since the start of 2025, Democrats have flipped 9 Republican-held seats in special elections in Iowa, Pennsylvania, Mississippi, Georgia and Texas!

Since the start of 2025, Democrats have racked up wins in special elections for state legislative seats, giving the party hope for the midterm elections.
