This summer, there's no better place to be than your library!

On Monday, June 15, the 2026 HPL Summer Library Challenge, Unearth a Story, officially begins! All ages are invited to register, read, and complete fun activities through August 7 to earn prizes and a free book. Register online or at the library.

A long time ago in a Library far, far away...

A group of rebel readers infiltrated the program room and other gathering spaces to claim their first victory over a dark empire of non-readers. During the battle, rebel readers were able to steal secret plans to the empire's ultimate weapon, a weapon strong enough to destroy ALL OF THE BOOKS on the planet!

We are happy to report that these rebel readers flew their drones and shot their nerf-blasters directly into the hyper-matter reactor of this weapon! The books have been saved, and peace has been restored to the galaxy, once again.

The force is strong with this bunch!

HPL and HPL Express will be CLOSED for staff training from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5. Both will reopen at 1 p.m. and resume regular hours.
