The sounds of Book Packing Day!

📣Today is the last day to check out children's books at Kalkaska County Library before they are packed up for the move to our new Children's Library location.

We are so excited about having the collection together again and being able to move the books out of the giant shed. We are also excited about a larger space to have children's programming.
While it's not ideal for our children's books to be separated from the main branch, this will be a wonderful location for a year or two as we make improvements at the main library.

Thank you for your patience while we move. We believe that things will be great on the other side! 😃

As we prepare our new Children's Library location, we need to pack up the books. Children's books will be available to check out through Monday, Aug. 31st. Then we will begin packing them to make the move to our Children's Library in upcoming weeks.

Please place your holds by Monday evening or stop in for your books. MeLCat is also available to request a book from another library, if you are in need of a certain book. Children's books can still be returned during this time.

Thank you for your patience as we transition! We are excited to kick off October with a fresh children's library location. 😃

The Friends of the Kalkaska County Library will be hosting their annual Golf Scramble at Twin Birch Golf Club and Restaurant on September 18th!⛳

This is a fun way to support your library by playing, sponsoring a hole, or BOTH! We appreciate all of the support that the community gives the library at this event every year. Thank you!😃

Happy First Day of School!🤩

📘Did you know that Kalkaska County Library manages the Kalkaska Public School libraries? We really do!
We have a great partnership with KPS and enjoy getting books into the hands of students and helping them to develop their reading skills and become lifelong learners.

📕Where can you return all of those library books? You have choices!
Drop school and KCL books off at our main library or any branch library. Your student can ALSO return their KCL books at school, along with their school library books.

📗Easy peasy! READ ➡ RETURN ➡ REPEAT 🔁
