Kaufman VFD ESD #1 — Solar Farm Grass Fire
🚒 Busy afternoon for your Kaufman VFD ESD #1 firefighters!
Our crews were dispatched to a grass fire at the solar farm off FM 1836 Kaufman VFD ESD #1 responded with four units to assist with the fire.
The fire burned approximately 4 acres before crews were able to get it under control. The fire was caused by a tractor mowing with a brush hog. Unfortunately, the tractor was destroyed in the fire.
Thankfully, there were no reported injuries.
A big thank-you to all of our firefighters who responded and worked hard to protect the property and keep the fire from spreading.

YOUR KAUFMAN VFD ESD #1 FIREFIGHTERS HAVE BEEN BUSY! 🚒
Our firefighters have had a very busy 24 hours responding to several incidents in our area.
Last night, crews responded to a major accident involving one fatality. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this tragic incident.
Today, crews responded to a burn ban violation off Highway 243, followed by a vehicle and grass fire off County Road 111.
We then responded for mutual aid to Terrell VFD off County Road 275 for approximately a 5-acre grass fire. Our crews worked alongside neighboring departments to help get the fire under control.
A big thank-you to all of our firefighters and mutual-aid departments for answering the call and working together to protect our communities.

Kaufman VFD ESD #1 Firefighters Have Been Busy
Your Kaufman VFD ESD #1 firefighters have been busy with several calls over the past two days.
Last night, crews responded to a burn ban violation.
Today, firefighters were called to a rekindle from yesterday’s grass fire. After drying out, old hay and brush reignited. Tactical Tender 3, Brush 3, and Tanker 1 responded and worked the area for approximately 1½ hours, making sure the fire was completely extinguished.
We were then called to another grass fire that originated from a burn barrel.
🔥 PLEASE DO NOT BURN ANYTHING! 🔥

Kaufman County is still under a MANDATORY BURN BAN. With the extremely dry conditions, even a small fire can quickly get out of control or rekindle hours later.
Please help us protect our community, homes, property, and firefighters. Do not burn until the burn ban has been lifted.

🔥 KAUFMAN VFD ESD 1 GRASS FIRE RESPONSE 🔥
At approximately 2:52 PM, Kaufman VFD ESD 1 firefighters were dispatched to a reported grass fire. Upon arrival, crews found one shop structure with fire impingement and three additional structures threatened by the advancing grass fire.
Tactical Tender 2 and Tactical Tender 3, along with Tanker 1, responded to provide water, as there were no fire hydrants available in the area.
Kemp VFD was immediately requested for mutual aid and responded with three brush trucks and an engine, providing additional manpower and water supply.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire after approximately 8½ acres had burned. One home sustained minor damage to the vinyl underpinning. Thankfully, there were no injuries.
Several civilians also assisted firefighters by using brooms and garden hoses to help protect property. Also Kevin Ward assisted with his skid steer and was a great asset. THANKS
Conditions were extremely challenging, with temperatures around 103°F and 43% humidity.
The County Fire Marshal was requested to investigate the fire and address burning during a county burn ban.
A big thank-you to all of our Kaufman VFD ESD 1 and Kemp VFD firefighters, as well as the civilians who assisted. Your quick response and teamwork helped prevent further damage to homes and structures.

Mutual Aid Fire Response
Today, your Kaufman VFD ESD #1 firefighters assisted Kemp VFD with a large wildfire that burned approximately 50 acres.
Kaufman responded on mutual aid with Tactical Tender 3 and Tanker 1 to provide water supply and support firefighting operations. Several fire departments from Kaufman and Henderson County were on scene, along with the Texas A&M Forest Service.
We are proud to work alongside our neighboring departments and the Texas A&M Forest Service to protect our communities. A great job by everyone involved today!

🚒🔥 Kaufman VFD ESD #1 Fire Response 🔥🚒

This afternoon, your Kaufman VFD ESD #1 firefighters were dispatched to an unknown-type fire off CR 114.
Tactical Tender 2 and Tactical Tender 3 responded and arrived to find an illegal brush fire that had gotten out of control, burning approximately 4 acres of grass and heavily wooded area.
Tanker 1 responded to provide additional water supply, while Brush 3 was dispatched to assist with fire suppression. Kemp VFD was also called for mutual aid and responded with a brush truck.
Our firefighters worked hard to get the fire under control and protect the surrounding property.

Another mutual aid call to assist our neighbors
Terrell vfd with grass fire on Zagota lane that threaten some homes. Tactical Tender 2 one of our 1000 gal large brush units and Tanker 1 our 3000 gal unit for additional water supply responded to assist while additional volunteers stood by at our station 1. Here is Tender 2 hitting hot spots and assisted with mop up.
