🌀🌿🫶🏻Stewardship Stories: Volunteer Fridays at 'Awapuhi Labyrinth

Looking for a meaningful way to begin your Friday?

Starting on August 7th, you're invited to join us each Friday from 8:30 a.m. until pau as we care for the gardens and sacred spaces of 'Awapuhi Labyrinth together.

Whether you can stay an hour or the whole morning, your helping hands are appreciated.

Please bring:
• Your favorite w**ding tool
• Gardening gloves
• A bucket (if you have one)
• Water
• Sun protection

Afterward, you're welcome to enjoy a quiet, self-guided walk through the labyrinth. If someone feels called to offer a guided walk that morning, everyone is welcome to participate.

Come once, or make it part of your weekly rhythm. Every helping hand helps keep this special place thriving for our community.

We hope to see you on Friday mornings beginning in August!

🌀🌿🫶 Stewardship Stories • Partners in Sign

Every welcoming place is shaped by unseen acts of care.

Fresh paint.
A hammer.
A few hours in the Hawaiian sun.

These new signs are more than directions. They are an invitation, lovingly created by Christy and Jennifer, to help visitors find their way to 'Awapuhi Labyrinth.

Stewardship isn't only about preserving a place.

It's about making it easier for someone else to discover it.

World Labyrinth Day is about more than a walk.

It is about people.

Friends gathering in peace.
Old connections renewed.
New friendships formed.
Stories shared.
Songs sung.
Creative hands and open hearts coming together in community.

This year's gathering was made especially meaningful by the presence of Deborah, whose vision and dedication brought 'Awapuhi Labyrinth into being, alongside Christy and the many friends who helped create a day filled with connection, creativity, reflection, and joy.

The prayer flags, the music, the art, the conversations, and the walk itself were all expressions of something simple and powerful:

Peace begins with us.

Mahalo to everyone who gathered, contributed, and shared in the spirit of the day.

The evening before World Labyrinth Day, the labyrinth settled into stillness.

Fresh prayer flags danced in the moonlight. Clouds drifted across the full moon. At the heart of the labyrinth, a gentle blue glow welcomed the night.

After a day of preparation, there was a moment to simply pause.

To breathe. To listen.

To remember why we gather in the first place.

Before the community arrived the next morning, the labyrinth held space beneath the full moon sky.

Some moments ask for celebration. Others ask only to be witnessed. 🌕✨

Looking back on the days before World Labyrinth Day, we're filled with gratitude for the many hands and hearts that helped prepare the labyrinth.

There were generators to troubleshoot, pathways to clear, fresh prayer flags to hang, and countless small acts of care that help keep a sacred space welcoming and alive.

One of the sweetest surprises came when a community member saw our invitation for the annual W**d & Whack and arrived with his own w**d whacker, ready to help.

That spirit of generosity is what makes places like 'Awapuhi Labyrinth possible.

The labyrinth is not maintained by one person alone. It is tended by many hands, loving hearts, and a shared belief that spaces for peace, reflection, and connection matter.

Mahalo to everyone who helped prepare the labyrinth for World Labyrinth Day.

E komo mai. Welcome.
