Throwback Thursday!

A lot can change in 16 years, but some views still feel familiar. Here’s a look at the library back in 2010 compared with today in 2026, including a peek from the same spot.

Back with an update on our Community Coloring sheet. It’s coming along nicely, but it’s not quite finished yet.

Stop by, unwind, and take a moment to add some color. We’d love to see this community artwork continue to grow.

Here’s a great article featuring our very own Alta Kramer.

More than four decades into her career, Alta Kramer is still helping Lopers track down the information they need.

The Kearney State College graduate started working at UNK Calvin T. Ryan Library in 1981 and continues to be a valuable resource for students and faculty.

“The only place I felt at home, felt I could contribute and where I could earn a living was at the library. Libraries harbor new ideas, interesting people and other opportunities to snoop. Sorry, I meant to say research,” she quipped.

We’ve got another way to help you relax and give your nervous system a break. It’s a chance to add a little color to the large community coloring sheet outside Offices 115/117 in the library, available now through the end of finals.

Need a moment to reset or a creative break between classes? Stop by the library’s Reflection Room for a quiet, inclusive space for prayer, meditation, reflection, and personal reset, or visit our Make Art Take Art table to create something, leave something, and take a piece that inspires you. Whether you need calm or creativity, the library has space for both.

It's National Library Week and we've got a couple of things going on. Today we have children's book author/illustrator Bruce Arant here in the library. Also on Thursday we will have a table over at the student union to promote our Recreational Reading area and the renewed focus on physical media in the form of DVD video.
