Are you interested in becoming a Park Board Member with Benton County?

The Park Board works closely with staff to develop projects for the parks and to continually shape the vision for parks and recreation throughout the County. The Park Board provides specific advice to the County Commissioners regarding opportunities for new park lands, capital improvements within existing parks, and on matters of rules, regulations, and policies in the parks. Park Board members are volunteers and are appointed by the County Commissioners to six-year terms.

REMINDER-Notification of Closure
Badger Mountain Preserve – Skyline Trail

Beginning the morning of Wednesday, October 8, the summit section of the Skyline Trail will be closed for renovations, including widening and resurfacing. This section is between the two stars shown on the map. Trail users can detour from the closed section by simply using the road up to and over the summit area. We expect this work to last 6 days, from Wednesday, October 8 until Monday, October 13. Volunteers led by the Friends of Badger Mountain will be completing this work, and we appreciate all of the time and energy from our volunteers.

Thank you for patience with this temporary inconvenience.

Benton County recently joined local leaders, scientists, and stakeholders for a focused tour examining the growing challenges caused by Water Stargrass in the Lower Yakima Basin. The tour was hosted by the Water Stargrass Coalition, an alliance of concerned stakeholders working together to manage and solve this urgent issue.
