🚒🚑🚓 NATIONAL FIRST RESPONDERS DAY | OCTOBER 28, 2026 🇺🇸

Today, Menominee County Emergency Management proudly recognizes National First Responders Day, a day dedicated to honoring the courageous men and women who answer the call when our communities need them most.

Every day, firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency medical personnel, dispatchers, and other emergency response professionals dedicate themselves to protecting lives, property, and the safety of our communities.

Whether responding to a medical emergency, fighting a fire, assisting during a natural disaster, or answering an emergency call, these individuals often put the needs and safety of others before their own.

❤️ To our local first responders throughout Menominee County and the Menominee Indian Reservation: THANK YOU.

Your dedication, professionalism, compassion, and willingness to serve do not go unnoticed. The sacrifices you make, the long hours you work, and the challenges you face are a testament to your commitment to public service.

We also recognize the families and loved ones who support our first responders. Your sacrifices and understanding are an important part of the work they do.

As Emergency Management, we have the privilege of working alongside many of these dedicated individuals. We are grateful for the partnerships, teamwork, and shared commitment to keeping our community safe.

🚨 Today, and every day, we encourage our community to take a moment to thank a first responder for their service.

From all of us at Menominee County Emergency Management, thank you for answering the call, for your unwavering commitment, and for everything you do to protect and serve our community.

💙❤️ Happy National First Responders Day!

National Move Over Day

Every day, law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, tow truck operators, highway workers, and other first responders put themselves in harm’s way while working along our roadways. They’re there to help others, often in dangerous conditions with traffic passing just feet away.

When you see flashing lights on the side of the road, move over or slow down. If you can safely move to another lane, do so. If you can’t, slow down and proceed with caution.

Behind every uniform, emergency vehicle, and tow truck is a person with family, friends, and loved ones waiting for them to come home. A simple decision to slow down or move over could make the difference between someone finishing their shift and someone never making it home.

Let’s all do our part to protect those who serve, help, and keep our roadways safe.
