First Friday + fresh sculpture = Convergence! 🎨

Join us Friday, September 4, at Printshop Beer Co. in South Knoxville for the opening reception of Convergence, SoKno Sculpt’s Fall 2026 Member Show.

Come meet our Knoxville-area sculptors, explore a new collection of original sculpture, and spend the evening with fellow art lovers. The Eclectic Duo will provide live music, and we’ll have refreshments and hors d’oeuvres to enjoy while you wander the show.

Whether you collect art, support local artists, or just want a great First Friday in Knoxville, come hang out with us!

**Spotlight on SoKno Sculpt Artist Emily Moorhead-Wallace of New Roots LLC 🌿🐦**
Emily Moorhead-Wallace, in collaboration with artist Janet Austin, created ** Nestful,** a public artwork located across from the Farm-in-the-Zoo in Chicago's Lincoln Park as part of the Chicago Tree Project.

Built into a 100-year-old oak tree that had reached the end of its natural lifespan, *Nestful* transforms the tree into a thriving bird sanctuary. The sculpture was constructed using reclaimed scrap lumber, barn wood, cedar siding, and wood generously donated by a local furniture maker. Together, the artists installed 190 handcrafted birdhouses, creating habitat for native birds while giving new purpose to a dying tree. 🌳💚

This inspiring work is a beautiful example of how art, conservation, and community can come together to support biodiversity and celebrate the natural world.

Every artist has a story—and this week, SoKno Sculpt artist **Lindsay Skvarek** shares hers.

Lindsay first discovered sculpture through ceramics as an undergraduate before exploring wood and metal as her passion for three-dimensional art continued to grow. Originally from Michigan, she's found her creative home here in Tennessee.

At SoKno Sculpt, we believe public art brings people together. We're a grassroots Knoxville nonprofit creating community through collaboration, education, exhibitions, and public art—and we're always excited to welcome new artists.
