Heaviest, persistent rainfall expected to remain south of U.S. Highway 18 locally from northeast Iowa into far southwest Wisconsin where 2" or more of rainfall will be possible. Heaviest rainfall expected overnight into Thursday morning. Slightly cooler nights through the weekend increase Frost/Freeze potential for Monday morning.

Widespread rainfall moves into the region this afternoon and continues into Thursday with heavy rainfall possible Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning. Areas south of I-90 are favored to see the greatest rainfall amounts where totals of 2+ inches are possible, though localized amounts of 3-4+ inches could occur. Localized flooding and river rises are possible where the greatest rainfall amounts occur. Flash flooding is possible where storms frequent.

Mild temperatures continue through this weekend and into early next week with high temperatures in the 60s to low 70s. Mostly dry conditions are expected today, though scattered showers may develop west of the Mississippi River this afternoon. Greater potential for showers exists Saturday afternoon and evening. Mostly dry weather returns Sunday and Monday before widespread rainfall develops again on Tuesday.
