Our Office of Juvenile Justice Services and Human Services Department recently had the opportunity to take part in a conference focused on juvenile justice reform and better supporting youth and their families.

A big part of the conversation focused on looking beyond the youth involved in the juvenile justice system and understanding the needs of the entire family. The conference also brought together professionals and community partners from across the country to share ideas and discuss how stronger connections to existing resources can help families find the support they need.

Our teams are bringing those conversations and new ideas back to Calcasieu Parish as they continue working with community partners to strengthen support for local youth and families.

A single lane of Cleveland Road/Leo Breaux Road, from Foreman Road to U.S. 90, will be closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, for power pole replacement.

Flaggers will be in place to maintain traffic through the work area. No detour is required, but drivers should expect delays.

The project could be affected by inclement weather.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced the Interstate 210 West flyover ramp is reduced to one lane and is anticipated to last through October 2027.

The left lane of I-210 West approaching the flyover ramp will have an 11-foot width restriction. Motorists can use the right lane of I-210 West to take Exit 1B to I-10 East, then to Exit 26 PPG Drive.

The lane closure is necessary for crews to construct the new I-210 West to I-10 West flyover ramp. This work is associated with the Interstate 10 Calcasieu River Bridge replacement project.

Safety Reminder:
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
