Excited and truly honored. 💚🐸

I wouldn’t be here without the love, encouragement, and support of the people who have walked beside me throughout this journey. They believed in me, lifted me up, and reminded me of who I am and my purpose. My hope is to give that same love, support, and encouragement to my campus, my district, and every person I have the privilege of serving.

🐸💚 Congratulations to Cynthia Flores on being named the new Principal of Effie Morris STEAM Academy!

Ms. Flores brings 20 years of experience in education and has served students as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and most recently as Assistant Principal at Effie Morris STEAM Academy. Her dedication to supporting students, empowering teachers, and building meaningful relationships has already made a lasting impact on the campus community.

This next step in leadership is especially meaningful as Mrs. Flores is a proud Lake Worth graduate and former student of Effie Morris, making this a true full-circle moment as she now leads the campus that helped shape her own educational journey.

We are excited to see Effie Morris continue to grow under her leadership and look forward to all that is ahead.

🐸💚 ¡Felicidades a Cynthia Flores por ser nombrada la nueva Directora de Effie Morris STEAM Academy!

La Sra. Flores aporta 20 años de experiencia en educación y ha servido a los estudiantes como maestra, coach instruccional y más recientemente como Subdirectora de Effie Morris STEAM Academy. Su dedicación para apoyar a los estudiantes, fortalecer a los maestros y construir relaciones significativas ya ha dejado una huella positiva en la comunidad escolar.

Este nuevo rol tiene un significado especial ya que la Sra. Flores es orgullosa graduada de Lake Worth ISD y exalumna de Effie Morris, convirtiendo este momento en una verdadera historia de regreso a casa mientras ahora lidera el campus que ayudó a formar su propia trayectoria educativa.

🚌🐸 At the June Board Meeting, the Lake Worth ISD Board of Managers proudly recognized members of our Transportation Department for their dedication and service to our students and district.

Congratulations to Eric Brown and Ron Short on this well-deserved recognition. Thank you for the important role you play in supporting our students each day and helping ensure they arrive safely and ready to learn.

Kindergarten comes faster than most parents expect.

One moment they’re learning through play, and the next they’re being asked to follow routines, participate in group learning, and build on early skills.

Having that early foundation can make those first classroom experiences feel more familiar and less overwhelming.

📢 Lake Worth ISD Academic Calendar & School Hours Update for 2026–2027

Thank you to everyone who participated in our community survey regarding the proposed school start and release times. The survey results showed an even split between keeping the current schedule and moving to the proposed schedule. After careful consideration, the district has decided to move forward with the newly proposed start and release times for the 2026–2027 school year.

Additional updates to the approved academic calendar include:
📅 The last day of school for students will now be May 25, 2027.
📅 Students will attend school on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
🎓 Graduation will take place on May 26, 2027.
🍎 New teachers will report on Thursday, July 30, 2026

New School Hours for 2026–2027:
• Elementary Campuses: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Lucyle Collins Middle School: 8:30 AM – 4:15 PM
• Lake Worth High School: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

📢 Actualización del Calendario Académico y Horarios Escolares de Lake Worth ISD para 2026–2027

Gracias a todos quienes participaron en nuestra encuesta comunitaria sobre los horarios propuestos de entrada y salida escolar. Los resultados mostraron una división equitativa entre mantener el horario actual y adoptar el horario propuesto. Después de una cuidadosa consideración, el distrito ha decidido avanzar con los nuevos horarios de entrada y salida para el año escolar 2026–2027.

Actualizaciones adicionales al calendario académico aprobado:
📅 El último día de clases para estudiantes ahora será el 25 de mayo de 2027.
📅 Los estudiantes asistirán a clases el martes 3 de noviembre de 2026.
