Welcome Wednesday at Willkie! 🖤❤️🦡

Please help us welcome Mr. Bill Mitchell to the Badger family! 🎉 Mr. Mitchell will be joining our team as a School Counselor.
“Hi everybody, I’m Bill Mitchell, and I’m excited to be joining Ed Willkie as a school counselor. I’ve worked in education for 15 years, 10 of which I’ve worked as a middle school counselor.
One of my favorite parts of being a counselor is getting to know students and being a supportive presence during both the challenging and successful moments of their school experience. I enjoy helping students work through difficult situations, solve problems, recognize their strengths, and find success both inside and outside the classroom. I also enjoy working closely with teachers and staff because supporting students is truly a team effort.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, photography, and watching documentaries. I’m also a self-proclaimed 80s music aficionado.
I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and becoming part of the Badger family.”

Please help us welcome Mrs. Megan Ibarra to the Badger family! 🎉 Mrs. Ibarra will be joining our team as the Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Teacher.

“Hello! My name is Megan Ibarra. I am a Fort Worth native and a graduate of Paschal High School and the University of Texas at Arlington. I began my teaching career in 2007 and am entering my 15th year in education. For the past two years, I have been teaching in EMS ISD, following several years in Round Rock ISD. I am excited to join the Ed Willkie team as the Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) teacher. I am passionate about helping students develop valuable life skills that will support their success both now and in the future. My mission every year is to create a space where everyone feels welcome and safe to learn and grow.

On a personal note, I have been married for 18 years, and we have two children who are Ed Willkie Badgers as well! In my spare time, I enjoy completing home renovation projects, traveling, trying new restaurants, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on my kiddos at their events.

I am looking forward to an awesome year, meeting new faces, and making new memories!”

Welcome to Willkie, Mrs. Ibarra! 🦡❤️🖤

🧥🎒 Lost & Found Update

The hallways are quiet but campus is still overflowing with hoodies, jackets, water bottles, and more that are missing their students.

Check the photos and stop by the foyer 8:00 AM–4:30 PM Monday through Thursday this week to claim anything that belongs to your family.

Anything left after Thursday will be donated.

Don’t let “that favorite hoodie” become “that former hoodie.” 😉

Willkie is proud to welcome Mr. Franklin Agogo to the Badger family! 🎉 He will be joining us as an ELAR Teacher and Coach.

“Born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, I am of Nigerian descent and the second youngest of seven siblings. I graduated from North Side High School in 2014 and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Texas A&M University–Kingsville. This will be my fifth year as an educator and coach, having previously worked at Jacquet Middle School in Fort Worth ISD and H.F. Stevens Middle School in Crowley ISD.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, listening to music, working out, and running a youth basketball program. I am excited to join Willkie as an ELAR Teacher and Coach.”

We are excited to welcome Mr. Agogo to Willkie and look forward to the leadership, energy, and connection he will bring to our students both in the classroom and on the field. Welcome to the Badger family, Coach Agogo! 🦡❤️🖤

Welcome Wednesday at Willkie! 🖤❤️🦡

Please help us welcome Mrs. Rebecca Smith to the Badger family! 🎉 She will be joining us as a 6th Grade English teacher this year.

“Hello! My name is Rebecca Smith, and I am so excited to begin this new chapter teaching 6th grade English at Willkie. I come from a supportive family and have been blessed with people in my life who encourage me to keep growing both personally and professionally. I have my Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from UNT, studied 4–8 ELAR at the University of North Texas, and over the past 15 years have taught secondary English in a variety of roles.

In my free time, I enjoy working out, traveling with my husband, cooking and enjoying delicious food, and spending time with my family. Teaching has taught me the value of patience, the power of believing in our ability to grow, and the importance of being a kind adult who believes all kids can learn. I believe kids are the future, and I keep that at the forefront of my mind every day. I am grateful for the opportunity to join the Willkie team and look forward to making a positive impact.”

We are excited to have Mrs. Smith join our team and can’t wait to see the impact she will make on our students and school community. Welcome to Willkie, Mrs. Smith! 🦡❤️🖤
