The City of Lansing is updating its Comprehensive Plan, and we need young community builders to help shape the future! ✨ The goal in this hands-on activity is to get kids thinking about what makes a great community and share their ideas for new places and improvements. Using lots of craft supplies, imagination, and creativity, participants will bring their inspiring ideas to life and create their own Box City!

🦖 We're only a week and a half into June, but we are SO EXCITED for July programs! We have a packed month of programs for all ages!

Registration for programs will open NEXT Monday, June 15th at 9:00 AM. Registration is required for all programs except Storytime - you can just show up for those! 📚 Registration will be through our online calendar at the link in the comments below. 👇

Do you have a creative kiddo? Sign up today for this year’s summer day camp: ✨ CAMP CREATE! ✨ Brought to you by Lansing Parks & Recreation and the Lansing Community Library!

🎨 What is it?: Camp Create is a crafting & painting extravaganza that is a whirlwind of creative chaos!

🎨 Who can come?: We will have two Day Camps, one for ages 7-9 and one for ages 10-12.

🎨 When is it? 7-9 Camp: Friday, June 26th from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM; 10-12 Camp: Friday, July 10th from 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM.

🎨 Cost: $40.00 per child - includes supplies!

Our 2026 sticker books have arrived and we think our T-Rex may be a liiiiiitle jealous that his arms are too short to get one of his own. 🦖😂

Stickers books are for ALL ages participating in SRP on Beanstack! For each badge you earn, you can pick TWO stickers to collect and add to your book! 🎉

We are proud and excited to be partnering with Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas this Summer to be a site for their Kids Summer Food Program. Friends of Library Board members and Library Advisory Board members have stepped up to help us make this happen! 🍎📚

Five free meals are available each week for ALL children under 18. They’ll be here every Wednesday this Summer from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM to help out and answer questions about the program.

Thank you so, so much to everyone who came out to our Summer Reading Kick-Off Egg Hatch on Saturday! 🦖🦕 We were SO glad to find homes for all of our dinosaur eggs!

SRP is now in full swing and we are going, going, going until July 31st! 🏃‍♀️💨 You can sign-up for programs through our online calendar (July registration will open on the 15th) and use Beanstack to log your reading to earn tickets, badges, and stickers. 📚 Links in the comments below! ⬇️
