Lansing Community Library facilitates the enjoyment of lifelong learning, fosters creativity, and promotes community engagement. Library Advisory Board Meetings are open to the public. The Library Board meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Lansing Community Library, 730 First Terrace, Suite 1.

Our community was the first in the area to sign on to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in 2021 to give our children the best start in life. Inspired by Dolly Parton’s own dad, who couldn’t read or write.

While our hearts are incredibly sad today, we’re more inspired than ever to continue this important mission. Together, we are building a brighter future for our children.

Thank you for supporting our work and Dolly’s legacy.

We had a great time this Summer, but now we’re handing the reins back to you! ✏️ Don’t worry, we’ll still be here when you need a good book after school. 📚 Welcome back, teachers!

☀️ Tomorrow (August 5th) is the last day to grab FREE meals for kids at the library! We are so proud to have a library that partnered with Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas to provide weekly meals for families in the community.

We also want to give a HUGE thank you to the volunteers who helped keep the show running each week! 💗 This Summer would not have been possible without them.

Felyx was the Dog Star of the show at Lansing Community Library Dog Days Of Summer Storytime on Thursday. He met the 24 Storytime kiddos and their adults. He was four paws down on being a friendly, wagging ambassador. He handed out sniffs and kisses to a horde of children from all sides! He also gently accepted treats one at a time from kids who wanted to make Mr. Felyx feel welcome. He MAY have taken advantage and eaten the whole bag one yummy cookie at a time...

We beat the heat on Saturday by having SO much fun with everyone at the foam party! Our friends from Lansing City Fire Department stopped by to help us stay cool - it was the perfect way to end all the fun! 🚒
